Alarm going off mysterioudly

Did you figure this one out? My wife's '03 Boxster S does the same thing. It has gone off maybe 3 or 4 times in the last six months. I'm always worried going out of town for a weekend or whatever and having it go off and really pizz off my entire neighborhood. I am sure not comfortable with leaving the keys at home with my 16 year old son "just in case".

Any thoughts on why it would do this?

i had this problem on my 2002 boxster s and my 2004 550SE

it occurs when i have the car parked with the dashboard sun shield up

i have to do the double click alarm and get the beep, and my car's interior sensor is turned off

The move Risky Business comes to mind..... better to have the neighbors pissed off than the car practicing its' water treading skills...... LOL

Any one figure this out yet??? My 2001 996TT does the same thing. Is there a way of completely turning off the alarm?

In my manual it states to lock the car twice to disable the inside sensor, but it doesn't say to do it with the key fob or at the actual door lock on the car.

Any help would be greatly appreciated to this ongoing problem!

Thanks,

David

double click the key fob, and then you should get a double horn beep to indicate the alarm is armed, but the interior sensors are off

i get the alarm going off frequently when i use the dashboard sun visor, so i have to do the double click method

or you may have rodents/bugs in your car :)
