What is this oil leak?

Recommended Posts

What year car? How many miles?

Could be an oil protection pipe leak. You won't know until you take the spark plug heat shields off and find the origin of the leak.

02 45k. That right there IS the origin of the leak...i think

Looks like on my C4 -99, got it checked today at the dealer. In my case it was the seals on the plastic inserts around the sparkplugs.

My final verdict was to replace the RMS + the 6 plastic inserts. Luckily my car is still on warranty. :jump:

Regards,

Niclas

Took it to the dealer on Saturday. Leaking camshaft housing seal. Supposed to be ready by end of day today, but still unsure if the extended warranty will cover totally (they need to remove some seized exhaust header bolts and apparently warranties tend not to cover that)

If the repair is covered then removal of bolts to make the repair should be covered. That's the craziest things I've heard in while.
