Convertible Cover Stuck

Recommended Posts

I've had my '99 996 Cab for 2 weeks now, having traded up from a 79 SC Targa.

Got home tonight and closed the roof, the roof shut, but the convertible cover on the drivers side is stuck open by 3/4 inch. See attached picture.

post-12396-1152169164_thumb.jpg

The roof won't close any more or open. The roof tries to start opening, windows drop roof unlatches, then everything stops. I tried to manually open the cover, but no luck.

Has anyone had this problem before. Should I take it to a dealer or does anyone have recommendations for an independent shop in the SF Bay area (city or East Bay ideally) who could sort his out.

Many thanks

Keith

I tried to manually open the cover, but no luck.

By "no luck": do you mean that you could not figure out how to do it .... or that the prescribed manual top operation method would not function properly?
