  1. Richard; Thanks, I found the problem was the passenger side of the hardtop was too tight and pressed the top to the body. The screw head on the top in the corner rubbed thru the paint and made the noise. Now for the plastic popping sound in the front. I assume it is the latch and will need some lube and care?

  2. Please send me the way to adjust my hardtop so the noise is over
  3. I have a 2008 Cab with a hardtop and have all the rattles others have described. I have lubed with limited results. Now I need to remove the trim to fix the broken or rubbing clips. Noted a 14 page manual to do this work. Please email it to me before I go nuts. Porsche needs to get rid of all those plastic fittings and clips and return to making a car again. op@poticha.net Thanks
  4. I have a 2000 996 Cab 4. The front tires are Contsport2 and are 205 50 ZR 17. I have the opportunity to purchase Conti sport2 205 55 ZR 17's. Will this different size make a difference in the driving and handling?
  5. Thanks Loren I think the door is slightly warped, especially at the bottom edge. Can one simply open the cover? It doesn't appear to have a latch? So can one open it by using a blade and hinge it open. If so perhaps I can open it and remove it from its hinge and manipulate the cover?
  6. the passenger side airbag cove plate doesn't flush with the dash. Is there away to adjust? If so any directions? Should have noted that the car with the airbag alignment is a 996 2000 Cab.
  7. I want to replace the surround at the instrument cluster on a 2000 porsche 996. It appears that one has to remove the instrument cluster. Don't see any screws. Does anyone know how to remove the cluster so one can replace the surround? How about a step by step lesson. Thanks
  8. I have a 2000 996 with the headlamp washers. Tried them for the first time and one of the nozzles on the left side came out of it's socket and hit the windshield as I was cruising the freeway. Can you just replace this portion of the washer or do you have to replace the entire assembly. If the answer is yes where can one get the nozzle or an assembly less than $135.00? Is it difficult to install?
  9. The AM band on this radio has very little range. The FM seems fine and all other elements work. Is there an alignment adjustment or a fix that anyone is aware of? Even in the City the radio squeals because of range, frustrating. I asked the dealer he said they don't use AM in Germany so Porsche doesn't care?
