I can try a picture of tab off the air cleaner assembly but it's really recessed in a hole and hard to even see. I may just wait a couple weeks as I'm having a local shop pin my coolant pipes to avoid the dredded coolant pipe failure...

Looked at DIY for 996 GT3 as couldn't find one for the 997. Wondered what the secret is for releasing the connector for mass flow sensor? Can't tell if you push or pull the tab to release and don't want to break the plastic tab obviously. Also, the part holding the assembly to the rear bodywork is NOT a 10mm nut- looks like an allen, but hard to tell. I seem to be making this a lot harder than it should be...

Tried disconnecting for 3-4 days, plus hooking the ends up, neither did anything unfortunately... lovely 2 hour trip on I-80 to Omaha in my future... oh boy.... May also just try driving for a couple days to see if that clears it with time...

Just had the .2 2010 GT3 clear bra-ed and had the headlights out. The shop moved the car a little during the process which set off half the dashboard with warning lights. We couldn't find anyway to reset with Durametric and disconnecting the battery, fuses etc didn't work. Don't want to do a 2 hour drive to the nearest dealer to reset with those annoying lights flashing at me the whole way!! Any ideas??? -

Cleaning the rear calipers from my '73 2.0 I'm restoring and I advanced the pistons while replacing the rubber boots while cleaning everything. Got one piston back in fine, but the one on the side of the parking brake lever won't go back in. Keep turning the set screw and nothing happens- acts like it is stripped- can move the piston with a C-clamp either. What did I screw up??? Rebuilt several calipers and not had this happen before, but the rears on the 914 are a strange duck...

I remember it took something like 2 hours to remove those damned stickers on the backs of the seats of my previous 996 GT3- anyone have something that will soften them without messing up the paint, short of scrapping off little bits at a time? Softened up and removed the airbag stickers with denatured alcohol. All those damned "warning" stickers drive me CRAZY!!! Search came up empty...

Thanks. I also found a tube of lubricant for the centerlocks at Suncoast- it's a Porsche part and their prices are usually pretty good.

I'm trying to find a source for the latest bulletins on the maintenance and cleaning and greasing of the centerlocks. Guess it's not a TSB and don't see anything listed there. I've heard several talk about it but haven't seen it in print. Getting my '10 GT3 this coming weekend and am just starting my "homework" !!

My son is looking at an "06 Cayman S that is CPO'ed when the present owner bought it used with less than 2K miles. Can that be transferred to my son if he buys it. I recently found out that the CPO by Audi on an A8 I'm looking at is NOT transferrable if I were to sell it. Our local dealer isn't much help as they've never CPO'ed a Porsche!!

I've got the black weathertech in my Cayenne and have used them in other Audi and BMW products- happy with them and they fit well. -
Just did a scan with my new Durametric and several saved codes besides the one I was going to the dealer with about PASM (1772) discussed elsewhere. Found several under Motronic- P0011 (camshaft position), P00300 - multiple misfires, P0307, P0302, P0306, all for specific cylinder misfires. These did not throw a CEL but does this mean I need the coil-packs replaced?? Also 1542 under PSM - rate of turn sensor... boy, at 43K I don't want these going off after 50K!!!' Looks like the dealer has some work to do...
