  1. Found this on one of the parts sites. Part 7 is 99755585700 which is "pillar trim grommet". Trying to figure out if that means I can just pull it off. Or if its fastened from behind. Hoping it doesn't require opening up the plastic welds that hold the top and bottom of the panel together...
  2. Sure. The panels are found on a '12 Cayman R or 997.2 GT3 RS. They are going to be installed into a 2007 GT3.
  3. I have a pair of Cayman R / GT3 RS door cards that I'm having re-upholstered to match my .1 GT3. The door panels are removed from the car. I managed to get the grab handle off by removing 2 large silver torx screws from the back of the door card (red arrows in pic). However, cannot figure out how to get the armrest piece off. Anyone know the trick for this piece? I already tried removing the other small torx screws (blue arrows). Since the RS cards don't have the storage cubby they are not held on by hinges like on a regular gt3. Thanks in advance..
  4. Discovered this weekend that keeping the PSM off does not actually cure the problem... Its much harder to get the front wheel to lock / pulse but it did happen twice in a 50 mile canyon run. Same situation -- left turns only. Only its much less perceptible with the PSM off. My guess is whatever is causing this initiates the reaction, then the PSM kick in which makes the problem worse. But given it seems to be initiated with the PSM off, it seems like it is not a wheel sensor problem. Any other ideas beyond having the wheel bearings checked? Also if I have my mechanic check the wheel bearings anything specific to check for? Thanks again,
  5. After having it back in the shop to have the sensors cleaned, the problem persists. To respond to a prior question that was posted, shutting off the PSM does seem to eliminate the lock-ups so this seems to be a PSM issue. Is there an easy way to check whether the wheel sensors or steering angle sensors are malfunctioning? The shop that I took it to says that if the wheel sensors were bad I would have a PSM or ABS malfunction light that stays lit in the instrument gauge and this is not the case. Thanks again,
  6. Interesting, does it only happen on one side or does it happen on both? Mine are all matching but the rears are new and the fronts prob have 5k miles on them.
  7. Ultimate Coachworks in Culver City. Ask for Gary This shop is run by essentially the same guys as Premier (the best ferrari body shop in the West but they only work on exotics). Gary's guys do awesome work.
  8. Britax and Recaro seats work. I have a 996 C4S (coupe) and have successfully put a Britax Boulevard and a Recaro Young Sport in the back. We have both seats (use the other one in the DD) but ended up keeping the Young Sport in the 911 because: i) the Britax hits the C-pillar on its left upper edge. It still fits fine but I juet didn't like it rubbing on the panel. Could be more or less clearance in a cab though ii) the head restraint on the Recaro is better for spirited driving (ie the side to side support for the kids head really restrains lateral movement in the Recaro) iii) The Recaro gives the kid perhaps 0.5" more clearance to the front passenger seat (essentially the passenger can position the seat slightly further back) Other things worth noting: - The Recaro looks alot more compact in the store but it doesn't make a huge difference as you would think because the Britax base is narrow. - It helps to take out the rear seat back (adds 0.5-1" of additional distance to the back of the passenger seat), but does not do anything to take the seat bottoms out. - If a passenger is going to be along as well, my guess is they need to be 5' 6" or shorter. Otherwise they will be pretty cramped to give the kid sufficient room
  9. Thanks for the reply it does not happen in right hand corners. Also not feeling any oversteer initiated before the PSM engages. Doesn't PSM allow a bit of slip angle before interfering? Will have to try sans PSM.
  10. I have an '03 996 C4S coupe with 25k miles and a PSM problem. Car recently got new rear ties and was recently aligned (twice, initially by a local tire shop and then afterwards by my dealer). The issue is in some higher speed left turns, the PSM light (the yellow one on the dash with a triangle shaped icon, NOT the light that says "PSM") flickers and the front passenger side wheel locks. The wheel modulation is as if ABS is cutting in briefly, just enough to throw the car into a half-second of oversteer and un-nerve the driver. The issue is repeatable but it seems to happen only if you're driving the car spiritedly (say 7 or 8/10ths). It has happened in everything from a 30mph tight canyon curve to a 85mph sweeper. Took it to my local dealership (Bev Hills Porsche) and they say they can't find anything wrong with the car. They are having some trouble replicating the issue because it is happening on canyon roads while the dealership is in the city. I just had the car serviced 2 months ago, and subsequent to these issues appearing, had the alignment checked and the front wheels cross rotated to make sure it wasn't a wheel issue. Anyone else had this problem or know what might need to be checked? Reading some other posts it sounds like it could be the steering angle sensor or a wheel speed sensor. But figured I'd check here before I effectively have to write the dealership a blank check. Thanks.
