IAfter that i started to notice diffeculty fitting in the first gear when in slow motion, the gear fits in eventually but not smooth at all, the second gear is bit better while 3-6 gears fit in great!

I thought it's always better to engage first gear only from dead stop, otherwise, shift to 2nd gear...

I have a Britax roundabout and parkway. They both fit in the rear seat. The roundabout is a tight fit, but it's okay. I only used the roundabout as a forward facing baby seat, but front leg room is compromised. Now that my son is older and taller, I use the Parkway. It's much better since Parkway booster is less bulky than the roundabout.

Am still looking for source of all-weather rubber floor mats for 997.

Anybody found any that fit floor plan without needing to trim?

If not, what mat trims best?

Try Brandywine porsche. They sell rubber mats for 997. I thinking about getting a set myself.

Here is the diagram for the 996 lid. The 997 has the lock in the center instead of the left edge. Still 11 screws to release the outer cover so you can get at the two screws that hold the latch.

One more question, there are seems to be a felt cover on top of each screw. Can I use a flat head screwdriver to remove the covers?

It is very similar to the 996 glove box. Remove the screws on the inside of the lid to get access to the two screws that hold the latch/lock mechanism. Remember this is a keyed lock that matches your ignition key.

All right, it took a me awhile trying to figure out how to remove the middle cap (item 6) without scratching up the plastic. Then, I think there is some sort of cap also covering item 9, how do I remove this?

I just picked my 911S car Saturday morning. What a car!!! I was a bit nervous driving it home. Can't believe I'm a Porsche owner. All right, I'm still trying to remove the rear seatback. I think this is taking more time than actual driving.
