Your short shift has arrived in the parts department. I saw it today. Looks fast....
Since it has been paid for I might just try to pick it up. :D
Hey TP,
Do you work there?
Also, do you know what the green plastic thingies are?
Thanks - MK

Name the dealer.
The dealer is Steven's Creek Porsche in San Jose. I was told Tool Pants on babblers.org that you have a lot of experience with this, done about 100 installs and even have a CD. How would I get/buy this? Is it really as easy to install as everyone is saying? And lastly, are there any warranty implications if you DIY? Thanks.

I have purchased the OEM short shift kit from my dealer and wantto have it installed on a new 987.
The dealership wants to charge me about $450 for labor to install it.
Does anyone have insight into what this should cost?
The part from Porsche alone was around $500 and they want another $450+ to install it.
Thanks.

I contacted Kuda via email and they told me how to remove the gear covering. It was really easy, just tape a flathead screwdriver and pry up. The mount looks great, matches perfectly and I can hold my Treo or Video i-Pod. Pics attached.
How are you connecting your iPod to your stereo?
I have been looking at the Scosche wired transmitter.
Can you recommend the Kuda? Did you look at the ProClip?
I highly recommend the Kuda. It comes in your interior color and mounts seamlessly with no external brackets or screws. You can hold almost any phone, iPod, PDA, etc... I use the XtremeMac AirPlay 2 - Black FM transmitter which attaches to the bottom of my Video iPod. It works OK but as with any FM transmitter, you need a stable station to receive the signal and if you're driving where there are lots of radio stations, there can be considerable static. Does anyone know of any better solutions?

I have a PASM equiped 987S and would say its perfect as it is....... as far as I know the PASM dampers simply replace the standard dampers AND that the same springs are used as those on a standard 987. I would say that the springs are on the softer side of firm. I personally wouldn't lower it any further as mine already catches speed bumps.
My car spends most of its driving time set to sport mode as I prefer the firmer settup...... on very bad roads I switch back to normal mode as it soaks up the lumps and bumps better.
Just a quick question. I have a 987S too and find it way too bumpy/tight with PASM on Sport all the time. Is this freeway/smooth road driving only for you or city or a mixture? I live in Palo Alto, CA and do pretty much a 50/50 split between hwy and city. Any others?

I am new and find it incredible with the amount of knowledge and information here. That said, I am hoping someone can help me. I just bought the Kuda phone mount for my 987 and their instructions simply state in Step 1 "Loosen covering around gear stick." Does anyone know how to do this easily? Their product and instructions can be viewed here:

Their product seems to be great if I can install it as it can accomodate iPods, Treos, PDAs, etc...

Well, I woke up this morning, went outside and found my new 987 has been vandalized. Some :censored: has taken a knife to the top and made an approx. 2 foot cut through the canvas top and through the foam insulation. Does anyone know where or even if something like this can be reapired? Does the top need to be replaced? Any insight into cost? Thanks very much for any info.
