After 2000 km with the Schnell elbow, I could not stand anymore and took it off at the same time I got the PSE mod done to the mufflers. Above 5000rpm the resonator bypass just gets very loud and it drones. It does not have any sound characteristics so try the cheap way and see if you like it first.

Note the bypass pipe with the shut off valve in it .

That cutaway pic is great. It will be helpful for my guy to understand the work that should be done.

Auto dimming mirrors, homelink and rain sensor were offered in Porsche Tequipment for the 996 - I have not yet seen them for the 997. They could likely be added but you would need to figure out the wiring harnesses, part numbers and actual installation. Or you could wait and see if Porsche adds them to Tequipment.

Unfortunately my 2006 Carrera 4S does not have auto dimming mirrors, homelink and rain sensor.

Auto dimming and homelink I really would like to have. I know they are available for 996 but are the retrofit kits available for 997 yet??

Outside the subject , does anybody have the detailed picture of the inside of PSE mufflers or a pic of a gutted one. I want to get my stock muffler hacked just like the PSE one with custom made tips that are not fake. ( I am after single tip look). The reason I will not purchase PSE is, there are no weight savings or power gains plus I would hack it to be loud all the time so no valve needed.
