  1. My car is a 03 so I guess there are no TSBs the dealer should have carried out. What I was wondering is whether I have the noise because of something the dealer did wrong during the clutch installation, or whether the two are completely not-related.
  2. I am sorry to bring this topic up again, but I have a similar noise and it drives me crazy! The noise comes from the bellhousing. The problem in my case is that the clutch was replaced 6 months ago, so I cannot really wait until a new clutch is required to fix the noise. Could the noise be caused by a mistake during the new clutch install? Should my Porsche dealer fix this for free or will they charge for the work?
  3. Thank you for your input. I will also contact the shop that did the repair and see what they have to say.
  4. I recently had to replace my windshield and a day after I got the car back I noticed this stain on the bottom part of the steering wheel: I suspect it is glue or some kind of paint (?) that droped during the windshield replacement. I am not sure how to remove this without damaging the leather. Any ideas?
  5. I will check my versions for the amplifier and navi but I am pretty sure they are up-to-date. Does this mean I can load Opel map disks? Do Opel disks work with PCMII 3.0?
  6. Alternatively, is PCMII compatible with maps from other manufacturers? I read somewhere that PCM used to be able to read Opel (?) maps with some minor tweeking.
  7. No, the sticker does not mention any of the above codes. I have the bose sound system and I don't have rain sensor. I guess I just need a standard windshield (the one with the radio antenna in it). Don't I?
  8. I have PCMII (MY03) but there are no maps available for Greece, and my guess is there will never be maps available on CD. However, there are maps available on DVD. Is is possible to "convert" to the DVD version of the PCM? Which parts would need to be replaced?
  9. Hi, I need a new windscreen for my 996 MY03 Cabriolet. Is there a single part number, or does it depend on extras on the car (eg antennas)? Also, is there a version with a black stripe at the top rather than the green my car currently has? Finally, does anyone have the technical manual instructions on how to replace the windscreen? Thanks, Michael
  10. Loren, is it the same procedure if I want to replace the tips from my PSE with the twin-997 parts? Do you have the same diagram for the PSE?
  11. Yes, this is what the manual says as well. However I have noticed that it does not do this properly, and it seems to change the tone settings as well (not just volume). Is it just me, or do others think AudioPilot simply does not work?
  12. I have this AudioPilot option and I am trying to figure out what it does! I have read the manual, but I have yet to hear any differences with the system on and off (except for some random adjustment it makes to bass and treble by itself) The only difference I have noticed is that some times when the audiopilot option is switched on, the radio increases the volume by itself until it becomes really loud and I have to switch it off to stop it from blowing up.
  13. Alternatively you can try and jump start it with thicker cables.
  14. Hi there. I guess I am the 3rd Greek in this topic! I bought my 2003 C2 Cabriolet about a month ago. <offtopic> Anyone member of Porsche Club Hellas? </offtopic>
  15. This is an interesting topic. Can someone please describe in detail the difference between a patch and plug? Here in Greece I have seen two ways of fixing a tire: 1. Pull a rubber cord through the hole and heat it 2. Put a patch over the hole (from the inside) with glue Is #1 the "plug" and #2 the "patch"?
  16. Anyone? Is there a part number for the retrofit? Is there another way to check whether I have a faulty phone module or no module at all?
  17. Thanks Loren! I will try this over the weekend. Just a final question: If I disconnect the battery will I need a radio code when I connect it back again? The car has PCMII with Bose option.
  18. I have read that TSB but I could not figure out how to remove the airbag cover. Apparently there are some bolts that must be evenly tightened but I could not figure out how to find them. I was hoping for some step-by-step instructions on how to remove the cover so I don't do any damage trying to figure it our by myself.
  19. I have the same problem with the airbag cover! The lower part of it seems to be loose and it is making a very annoying sound. Can I have the info as well please? (PM?)
  20. Hi again! If I am over-doing this part number request, please let me know and I will stop. I am looking for the part number for the plastic cover which is missing in the attached picture. It is just below the sunvisor on the windshield frame. I need the part numbers for both the left and right covers (both missing). Also, my fuel cap is not locking with central locking and it seems that I am missing some kind of rubber "guide" (see attached picture #2). Thanks, Michael
  21. Hi! Can someone confirm the part number 996 111 985 03 to be the right hand side muffler for a MY03 996 Cabriolet with the Sport Exhaust option? Any indication of a price? Thanks, Michael
  22. Hi again! I am sorry for all these questions, but I have the car for about a week now and it is all I can think about. :D I have PCMII (996 C2 MY03 Cabriolet) but I don't think I have the phone module. There is a sim holder but even with a sim card in it I get a "Phone not available" message when I press the phone button. Can the phone module be retrofitted? I don't want the handset, just the mic version should be fine. Is this expensive?
  23. I had a brief look but I cannot tell if there is something wrong. Should I remove the rear bumber or the exhaust to check? If it is a broken weld inside, why would it stop rattling when I push it towards the center of the car, and increase rattling when I push it outwards? I am almost certain it is the heat shield, I just don't know how to find which part!
