  1. I am sorry to bring this topic up again, but I have a similar noise and it drives me crazy! The noise comes from the bellhousing. The problem in my case is that the clutch was replaced 6 months ago, so I cannot really wait until a new clutch is required to fix the noise. Could the noise be caused by a mistake during the new clutch install? Should my Porsche dealer fix this for free or will they charge for the work?

  2. Hi, I need a new windscreen for my 996 MY03 Cabriolet. Is there a single part number, or does it depend on extras on the car (eg antennas)? Also, is there a version with a black stripe at the top rather than the green my car currently has?

Finally, does anyone have the technical manual instructions on how to replace the windscreen?

    Thanks,

    Michael

  3. I have this AudioPilot option and I am trying to figure out what it does! I have read the manual, but I have yet to hear any differences with the system on and off (except for some random adjustment it makes to bass and treble by itself)

The only difference I have noticed is that some times when the audiopilot option is switched on, the radio increases the volume by itself until it becomes really loud and I have to switch it off to stop it from blowing up.

  4. This is an interesting topic. Can someone please describe in detail the difference between a patch and plug? Here in Greece I have seen two ways of fixing a tire:

    1. Pull a rubber cord through the hole and heat it

    2. Put a patch over the hole (from the inside) with glue

Is #1 the "plug" and #2 the "patch"?

  5. Hi again! If I am over-doing this part number request, please let me know and I will stop.

I am looking for the part number for the plastic cover which is missing in the attached picture. It is just below the sunvisor on the windshield frame. I need the part numbers for both the left and right covers (both missing).

Also, my fuel cap is not locking with central locking and it seems that I am missing some kind of rubber "guide" (see attached picture #2). post-10858-1149583499_thumb.jpg

    Thanks,

    Michael

  6. Hi again! I am sorry for all these questions, but I have the car for about a week now and it is all I can think about. :D

I have PCMII (996 C2 MY03 Cabriolet) but I don't think I have the phone module. There is a sim holder but even with a sim card in it I get a "Phone not available" message when I press the phone button. Can the phone module be retrofitted? I don't want the handset, just the mic version should be fine. Is this expensive?

  7. When I set the sport exhaust to its "quiet" mode, every time I accelerate between 900 and 1200 rps I hear this horrible rattling. I am almost certain it originates from the right side. I tried putting my foot on the exhaust and slightly push toward the center of the car and the rattling stops. If I push the other way (toward the right side) the rattling increases.

Is there some kind of metal shield on the outer part of the exhaust that could be causing this? Would this be on the rear bumper?
