I just bought a set of black floor mats for my 996 C2 Cabriolet (MY03) but the passenger side mat wont fit. I was wondering if my local porsche dealer ordered the wrong item. The part I was given is 00004480084A10. Is this the correct part #? If not, which car will my new mats fit?

I know this is an old-ish topic - sorry for bringing this up again. I have 2 keys for my 996 MY03. Both have a remote but one of the remotes is off.

If I order a new remote for the second key and keep the metal part, how do I program the remote to work with the car? Can I do it, or do I have to pay the dealer to program it? Please note that my 2nd key (the one with the broken remote) starts the car just fine.

Btw, I do not have any tags (lost I am afraid).

Hi all! I am about to buy a 996 C2 and since my last porsche experience is about 10 years old, I was wondering if there is a way to determine the real miles/kms a car has. Is a Porsche dealer able to tell you or there are ways to clock the car that cannot be detected (eg BMW cars can be clocked in ways that cannot be detected).

Unfortunately clocking of German imports here in Greece is very common practice, and I want to know what I am paying for.

Thanks for your reply Loren. MY02 cars (at least here in Europe) with the face lift headlights come with PCM1. Only the very late MY02 cars (> October I think) have PCM2.

Yesterday I saw a 9/2002 car with PCM1 and 12/2002 car with PCM2. So far, the only easy way I have found to distinguish the two is that PCM1 comes with cassete and PCM2 with CD.

I am looking to buy a 996 C2 and tonight I will be looking at a 996 C2 cabrio. It is a September 2002 car. How can I tell if it has PCM1 or PCM2? Are there any noticeable differences on the screen, buttons or something I can see by just looking at the car?

Just make sure you drive the car into the container, and it is not opened by anyone else but you. I have seen port staff loading/unloading cars and trust me you do not want your car in their hands :angry:
