Hey Everyone! I just purchased a 2001 996 C2 and the seat belt light is not coming on. All of the issues I see on the forum (using the search feature) relate to the light being illuminated when it is not supposed to be. In my case, it is the exact opposite.
Does anyone have an idea where I can start troubleshooting? Do you think this could be remedied with the seat belt receptacle fix that I see referenced quite a bit?

I took it to the local "Euro Car" shop for a diagnosis, they changed the bulb and said that wasn't the issue. They weren't willing to diagnose further without me paying more for it. I thought a little research might be warranted to save myself some money. I'd like to fix it on my own if possible.
I'm wondering if there is a way to test where the fault is happening. For example, is the fault happening between the seat belt receptical and the module or the module and the instrument cluster. Any thoughts on this?
