Hi ... :help: needed
I am exploring for a Techart bodykits for my Carrera S, TechArt AeroKit II for 997 with Techart multifunctional daytime running light in chrome, and the DRL whether we need to re-program the ECU system to recommed the LED light without the error message on the dashboard ?
And a 997 Turbo Rear Spoiler to go with at the rear, Can the 997 Turbo Rear Spoiler to be install onto Carrera S with the automatic up & down of the spoiler ?
Or a Rinspeed FIT spoiler, http://www.auto-powe...cabriolet-5.jpg (But I hear Rinspeed is no longer produced as it is take-over by Mansory.),
any Rinspeed products still in the market ?
Thank you :thankyou: ... need some input ...

You can dis-connect the battery for five minutes. This should reset everything.
Also, try ejecting the CD in the player. It could be a bad CD disk.
Paul
Dear Paul ... :thankyou:
I have try dis-connect the battery for 5 min or more, then re-connect the battery. When I switch-on the ignition, it show error msg "PSM Failure, PASM Failure",
after I drive it for a while, the error msh is gone. But the PCM still show the RED msg.
Maybe I should bring it back to dealer for them to check ... TQ & Appreciate your kind feedback !
-
Do you have a cd in the player?
Paul
I have the 6 CD Changer at the front bonnet & single disc at PCM, that means I can have 6 + 1 audio CD.
When push the power-on button, the PCM screen will start on with Porsche Logo, but mine below got the RED "Single-CD Repair Kits",
is the dealer re-install my PCM with the Repair Kits and not the full version ? My other functions are working ok, audio, sound, tel, info, trip, except nav (which I don't have the options).
:thankyou:

Hi, dear all ...
I have owned the 986 for some years, since it is a 10 year old car, I have change the suspension at the Dealer Workshop.
Just wondering on the new PASM suspension system on the newer posche line-up, how is the maintenance ? Do those new PASM need special maintenance, do they have the life-span period ?
Like the Air-matic suspension in Benz, it is best to maintenance or change on every 100,000 KM.
Is it as easy as the older model, just change the suspension to OEM, or aftermarket like H&R, KW or Blistein & etc ...
Thank you for your kind input, was thinking of sell off my old boxster, & get my-self a Cayman !!!

When I open the door handle, both side window do not drop few inch, so I have to push it down a little manually & closed the door, it will raise up automatically ok.

Hi, TQ for the feedback.
The electric mode Top is keep giving me problems, at first, it is the open un-evenly problem.
After the Weekend DIY, check on the cable things, I have DIY for the cable to 3/4' sticky out.
For a while, the top was operated well in electric mode --> was Happy
Then out of the blue, after I un-latch the microswitch, & press the buttom --> Nothing happens, the clamshell do not go up. Hand brake light is on. It just die off on me, quite :censored: & blur .. :cursing: ...
So thinking of other alternative to set the top in manual mode, or more like "1/2 electric, 1/2 manual" mode ...
But first I need to fit the Black Hydraulic pushrods .... to operated in elctric mode ... :(
Will feedback the result over the Weekend DIY ...
Appreciate all feedback ...

I have one question :- Could we have the Convertible Top set to Manual ???
By taking off the Black hydraulic pushrod part #12 (by un-clip the pin), and the white (or red) plastic cup is located on the forward end of part #3.
The Convertible Top Frame can be secure with Top Lock Microswitch,
However the clamshell is a bit tricky --> how to secure it
With the electric mode, the clamshell is secure by the Black Hydraulic Pushrod, But Manual ????
:help: needed ... anyone have any ideas ??? Thank you, I intend to manually open my convertible top as the Electric Mode give me lots of headache :soapbox:
Appreciate any help ...

Hi, Finally I manage to manually lowering my top by loose up all the Black hydraulic pushrod part #12 (by un-clip the pin), and the white (or red) plastic cup is located on the forward end of part #3 as attach photo, Thank to the Informative & helpful forums member.
I try to turn my V-Lever Part #6, it only turn a bit & stuck there like clockwise from 3 to 8, then stuck ...
Could the problem come from there ... what is the normal movement or turning circle of V-Lever ??? 180 or 270 degree turn ....

This is an old picture of my transmission. Few months back I had so much water under the driver's seat which resulted in the burn out of my central locking system unit. After $2k+ of repairs, water still leaked. Porsche never fixed the leak. I checked under the seat few weeks after the repairs and there was fresh water under there. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from at the time. So I started outting towels under there to soak the water.
A month ago I found the source of the leak. The arrow in the picture is pointing at this material (what is it called?). It has a hole in it. When ever I wash the car, the water , which is supposed to go through the drain point, goes through that hole and under my seat. I put some of that Blue Omega stuff that seals. But still water leaks but not as much as before. Does anyone know how to replace this material?
P.S: the material I'm refering to is called a Pan/Water Drip. Part # 986 561 805 03
I have this water leakage through the broken holes at the liner foam, to my lucky ... I fix it with a water proof canvas (cut to size) and lie it under to channel the H2O to the drain holes ...
As attach you can clearly the water proof canvas ... :D
Good Luck ....

My TOP fabric also got caught with scratch as indicated on picture 1 & 2, and the gap between the clamshell & body fender is quite big ...
First thing I need to get the TOP fix as above 1st problem, then my 2nd problem is to find what cause the fabric to scratch, afraid the scratch will get bigger & cause water leakage to inside ....
What happens ... all problem come once at a blue moon :P Big Headache & panic ... help needed :o

My Boxster get caught in TOP open un-evenly with the driver side up, but passenger side no moving ... as in pictures 1 & 2, the transmission drive lever on the passenger side is not moving as it should, picture 3 ... ;)
Have to loose the Black Ball joint & the Red joint to open it manually ...
Is the transmission give me the problem ??? If its tooo expensive, then might as well loose all the joint & operated the TOP manually or get a HardTop ....
Help pls ... any feedback is much appreciated :D

Two questions:
1) How do you turn the alarm off if you don't put the key in after unlocking with the key?
If u dont put the key in the ignition & turn to start position after unlocking with the key, the alarm will sound after 10~15 seconds, I dont think u can turn off the Factory Installed Alarm System.
2) Can I get alarm remotes (either built-in with the key or separate)? If so, does the dealer have to program them or can I do it myself?
Yes, u can get the alarm remote with the computer board, u will need to re-program the computer board to hv the same frequency as original or re-set the whole frequency, the dealer can do it 4 u ... it will cost about 1~2xx for re-program.
I think in the forum, someone have posted the subject on the spare key before. you might do a search on that.
Good Luck ...
I still waiting for my dealer to order the HEAD portion (2 buttoms key remote: central locking & rear bonnet opening) with computer board to be re-program.

Hi all,
I noticed that when I lock my doors with my key the red light on the lock switch inside the car blinks 12 times (I think it blinks 12 times, it might be more or less). I looked in the manual but I saw no reference to what that means - does anyone know? I don't have keyless remotes and I don't think the car is equipped with an alarm system either.
BTW, it is an MY98
Thanks!
It is equipped with Factory Alarm, if u lock the door with the key, after few seconds, the red light will blink on the lock switch on the dash.
If you un-lock the door with your key, within 10~15 seconds, u have to insert the key to the ignition & turn to start position without starting the engine, otherwise the alarm will sound on ...

Let me know if my final suspension setup is good please. The car seems to have less turning responsiveness with the alignment.
1997 Boxster, Factory 17 inch Rims. 225/45/17 in front and rears 255/40/17
Did you upgrade your front type ???
The factory - original setup for front 205/50/17 & rear 255/40/17 ! :lightbulb:
