Thanks much appreciated.
So if porsche dont sell valve seats I presume the machine shop can fabricate new seats ?
Thanks
-
I see that some say that all valve seats should be replaced during a rebuild. Problem is it seems that Porsche doesnt list them on their parts list.
Anyone got any idea how to proceed ?
Thanks

Hi
Can someone please tell me which cam timing/holdings tools I need for a 2003 3.6 litre 996 engine disassembly/rebuild and where I could purchase them. Much appreciated ...cheers

Thanks guys...you are are great.

You should change your pen name to Issac -:)
So where is the best place in the US to buy the parts I need for the rebuilt ?
cheers

Thanks heaps

Jeepers that’s. quite expensive !.
So a traditional engine stand with 4 or 5 fixing points would not be sufficient ?
-
Thanks for the comprehensive reply ......
I am now looking for advice in the forum wrt engine stands and whether I should buy a yoke or just use my traditional engine stand i.e. one that has 4 bolt fixing points. Am guessing that I will need to purchase the expensive yoke rather than run the risk of the engine crashing to the floor !!!
cheers

Thanks Loren
Does anyone know where I can get an engine yoke so I can fix my engine to an engine stand. I presume that a convnetional engine stand with 4 or 5 fixing points isn’t satisfactorily and that I will need the engine yoke ?
Cheers

Thanks....I tried that but guess they are off line for the moment.
