Since the battery is replaced, check the + and - cables for proper tightening.
Battery is not the issue, at the moment I have a good charge and terminals are tight and clean.
I thought it would have been the ignition switch (which I replaced) because of the symptoms at start, but still when turning the key
all lights flash (brightly) hear popping noise in rear speakers (radio is turned off) windows go up/down about 1" and I hear a loud clicking noise all while turning the key.
This had just started, had turned the car on with no issues and drove to store and back and then 1 hour later went to start again when this happened.
Thanks
Hmmmm was searching this forum and came across this post http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...amp;hl=ignition
which is the exact same thing I am having and his cause appears to be the battery, guess I take back and get tested/replaced.
will update just so the thread has an ending for future searches ;-)
Thanks

Hi All
Last night had started car and went to store and all was fine, later went to start car at house to move car and the following started:
Turn key:
1). Hear strange clicking noise
2). All lights (dash, overhead, radio) all start flickering
3). Windows go down and up (as if you were lowering top)
4). Hear noise in rear speakers
Car will not start.
Thought it might be ignition switch (and had extra) so I replaced, not much difference except lights do not flash as much and windows do not go up/down.
Car still will not start, I have removed the negative battery cable to let computer reset and will go back out in a few to retry.
Car is:
986 2.7 5 speed US base
Any ideas?
May be a good idea to get your battery tested???
Good point and I forgot to state that the battery is new and has a good charge.
Thanks

Thanks to all for the advice, yeah and even to juniinc for reminding me to search the site :D
I was looking at the Goodyear F1's a bit back, they had great reviews but never seen any reviews from a Boxster owner.

Hi All
Looking for a tire recommendation for both size and brand.
Boxster 986 2.7
Rim size:
Front: 18 x 8.5 52mm offset
Rear: 18 x 10 58mm offset
Also on the use of spacers (cosmetic look)
Street use only, no winter where I live.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

They will disconnect the plug connection to the spoiler drive motor and also remove the light from the cluster so as not to get the spoiler indicator light at start-up.
You should be able to see the connection if you remove the luggage compartment lining in the area of the rear panel.
Hi - I have the factory Aerokit I installed on my Porsche Boxster 2000 S.At some point in time I plan to upgrade to a different exhaust, and from what I've read, it's much easier to remove the rear bumper to change out the exhaust. I've also read that in order to get the rear bumper off, you need to raise the spoiler in order to get access to a couple nuts or screws.
My question for the board is - I'd like to find out how I can activate the spoiler so that I can manually put it up to remove the rear bumper. I bought this car used and the prior owner told me that the dealer deactivated the spoiler (I also do not see any warning light on my dash).
I checked the fuse box and the fuse for the rear spoiler is in there and is good. I've tried using the buttons down by the fuse box, but that does not activate the spoiler. I've read somewhere that there is a relay in the trunk that works the spoiler, which could be the reason, or perhaps the spoiler motor was unplugged.
Can anyone provide some insight on things I could check/do in order to activate the spoiler?
Thanks!

Well I got good news . . . . . . The battery was bad, had a good charge but when tested it failed and since it was only 3 months old was replaced for free.
Car starts with no issues and also glad I did not throw away old switch which would appear to still be good :D
