Thanks! This is consistent with homelinks site but more detail. If the picture is accurate I at least have an idea where to locate the control module. Looks like that is my next step in solving this problem.
The LED never lights up when going through the steps. I read another post where a guy replaces the control module and the LED worked afterwards. Hoping I have the same success. I think first I’ll try simply reseating the connector plug and see if that has any effect.

2005 Boxster convertible w/ manual transmission . It’s mostly basic; it does have the Bose stereo but everything else is base from what I can tell.

Actually yes! The seat heaters were on my list for the mechanic to reset. The previous owner had the battery replaced after letting it sit for a year. I had found the seat heaters were out for that reason but did not think to connect the garage door opener to the same issue.
Im gonna hold off on replacing the module until I can get the PIWIS update.
