I have a 2003 TT with aprox. 72000 kms for 3 years now, and for the last month I have been feeling the clutch pedal getting hard but I also feel the clutch more predictable now. I know this is the clutch accumulator but my question is: does it do any arm to continue to drive the car like this ,or should I replace the accumulator as soon as possible?
Thank you in advance

I was finaly able to install the 997 shifter in my 03 turbo, and I have to say that if somebody is in an doubt about doing this it´s a very easy DIY (I follow the BM instructions) and highly recomended.
The shift gains a complete new feeling of precision and shortness

I have done a lot of search for the b&m instructions but I can not find them. If someone has it would be great, so I can try the 997 shift .
Thank you in advance

Hello
I have a 03 TT and I would like to improve my shifter, and by all the previous post it seems that the best way is to go for a 997 shifter.
My questions are: is it the normal 997 shifter (if somebody has the part number) and if it is a simple replace or do I have to buy something else to do it.
Thank you
Part# is 99742401000 and as per skymast it is about $160.00. Easy to install as long you mark the old push-rods. I have used the B&M shifter installation instruction and it help a lot to do the job.Short Throw shifter installation instructions.
Thanks for all the info. I will get the shifter and try to install it
I will then post with the update

I got the workshop manuals and PET from the Porschelibrarian. A lot (huge) of useful information on my 996tt, that I think that anybody who wants to get familiar with their car should have.
Thank you Porschelibrarian

From what I remenber from the manual, with the key you should turn the ignition on, then press at least 5 sec M + key ( if you want the passenger mirror to move down you should also engage reverse after the ignition ) and only when you open the car if your seat is in different possition it will go back to yours. Hope it helps

I found out that the light from the trunk only works when I take the key from the ignition , and for curiosity , when I open the trunk even if the engine is close the light from there also works.

The bleeder is mounted high on the transmission slave cylinder.
Unless you have a lift you will need to remove the left rear wheel to get to it.
Thanks Loren
Do you have any pictures so I can find it more easy

The only way to remove the PCM 2 ( by the way from a 2003 996 tt) was to remove the dents , and I had to took the car to workshop , so if anyone else try to remove the PCM be careful not to force the plastic pieces as they will brake making it impossible to remove the unit so easily. In my car (LHD- I dont know if it makes difference) to close the detents ( 2 from each side ) is at the left side up and the right side down and the unit should remove easily . After inserting the Pcm to open the detents is oposite.
Thank you all :renntech: :renntech:

Hello
In my 996 the sim card from the pcm popped out and it never come back to position again. I ordered the tray from Becker, and today when trying to remove the PCM, when closing the dents from the side I think I broke the plastic pieces that close it ,as only one side is loose and the other does not move , and the plastic pieces goes 360. Is there any other way to remove the Pcm?
Thank you in advance

The release lever can only be change whith a new clutch?
Thanks

Hi,
I wouldn't be suprised if it needs a new clutch. Some seem to wear out in that kind of mileage without any abuse. A good giveaway is the pedal going stiff as well.
Get it done fairly soon, it can score the flywheel if left, these aren't cheap.
John
Thank you for tha advice

First of all Thank you for your reply. Is there a way to know what is the defective part?
What I feel is: before starring the car I press the clutch, as the engine buids up speed I feel the pedal going soft. As I start to drive the car ,sometimes between 1st and 2nd gear or neutral and 1st, the pedal gets hard again but goes smoth with another press.
