Took the car to Porsche and you were right about the tool, it is the coolest thing. They can actuate the lid, flaps top everything right from the laptop.

2 Porsche hours later they realized that there wasnt enough fluid which surprised me because nothing moved when i hit the button, not even the electric motors.

Anyway it was an expensive lesson to remember to check fluids!

You are likely going to need a PST2 or PIWIS to see which microswitch is not closing (or opening) that is causing the fault.

Hi Loren, i knew i could count on you to reply! Is the flashing light indicative of anything in particular? I cannot find any reference to a flashing light only to steady light. Since i hear the relay in the cab top control unit click should i assume that all non-top related microswitches are operable; such as parking brake, etc? I do not have access to a PST2 but i thought to check some pinouts on the connectors.

Parked my 2000 cab and when I tried to put the top up all i got was a flahing cab top light on the dash. Checked the parking brake and made sure the engine compartment lid was shut and still a flashing light but no top movement at all. i checked all of the fuses and they are all good. I hear the relay click when i push the rocker switch but still nothing other than the flashing light. Any ideas?

Let it cool down, the little plastic post will stay up for while if you where running up to temp.

Thanks Izzy, i'll let you know what happens. After putting the tank in the last thing I wanted to do was take it out for a faulty valve!

After replacing the coolant tank reservoir on my 2000 cab I started the "bleeding" process of lifting the bleeder valve and running the engine to operating tempearture. After it reached operating temperature, I tried to release the bleeder valve but it does not return to the "closed" position. Do I need it to cool down? or should it have returned immediately?
