  1. gents:

no issues with nav-tv unit for 72 hours.

    it simply rocks.

and its auxillary input works as well.

i do not have porsche sirius radio; however now i have AUX-in sirius radio and can move receiver between my porsche and other car.

playlists/artist lists/etc load well, though the more you have, the slightly longer it takes.

ver intuitive interface. photos/pics/video shot; operating manual under development.

can't beat IPOD+nav-tv unit; far superior to stock CD changer..

price=$599 and one and one/half hour (generous) of your time.....

    :clapping: kudos to moni!

  2. Good news and bad news! The good news is I got the kit for $982 plus tax. The bad news is I have a C4S and I don't think I have the room to mount the satellite unit along with cables. I should have taken the trunk assembly apart before undertaking this install as the configuration and available space is not what I expected. Any suggestions? :help:

is the space different han that for the C2S?

one would think it would fit.

do you have the CD changer as well? this should fit "in there" too...

if not, sell it to one of us!

    good luck!

  3. ok, after further research.... (for those of us without a power dimming mirror -- useless when you have dark tints installed anyway!)....

one can tap into the harness for the domelight for power. there is a connector that attaches to the dome light that provides both switched power and ground; turning on the lights does not affect V1 operation while driving (map light, etc) despite earlier reports.

the most lateral wire labelled pin 1 supplies *switched* (+) power to the dome light. (it is the first wire on the end of the connector in the pin 1 position)

the fourth wire in the harness from the first supplies ground.

in this configuration, the radar detector powers up upon unlocking the door with the key fob, and remains on until after turning the car off and allowing the lights to dim or using the remote to lock the door. there is about a 20sec delay after locking before the device is switched off.

    :drive:

Does the voltage decrease to the detector as the lights dim?

Couldn't this possibly cause problems in the long run to the detector?

detector shuts off once voltage drops below threshold.

    per my understanding, no.

  4. did do that 1 month ago. i also noticed the part numbers on the first post.

the question is, if we all need the same kit, are/do the part numbers still current?

i am in between sat and ipod/mp3 install...

emailed Moni @ nav-tv monday and no response.

    will call them today..

    thanks!

    how about some part numbers?

    Have a look at Cayenne TSB 12/05 9153 Satellite Radio Installation Instructions (I No. QV4 QV8) -- dated Sep 19, 2005.
