I picked up a 1988 944 CE 3 months ago, with a list of items not working. I repaired most of them. But I added antifrez and bleed the air out with bleeder open and the cap off with heat on high.
temp went up on gauge two lines but no hot air out of vents, no radiator fan on , let it run for 20 mins. Then I closed the bleeder and put the cap on. The car died out and had trouble restarting and when it did start it ran very rough. Is the thermostat not opening?

No.
If the code I gave you did not work then chances are that your radio was repaired by someone other than Becker. If that is the case then I can not help you... sorry.
The code was correct and the radio is working fine, thanks. The contacts on the back of the radio must not have been making good contact, so the buttons 6 to 0 were not working.
thanks for your help

I just picked up my first 911 after years of waiting and the battery goes dead and I didn't have the code ( I have now). But the preset buttons from 6-0 don"t seem to work, 1-5 work fine. Ant help you can provide would be great.
Thanks

It looks like something is wrong with with the preset buttons 6-0, when you try them nothing happens. If I push 1-5 they do enter into the radio and the little * erase as I enter them. So the buttons must be bad, I think.

No one has any ideas? Even if I can close the thermo for now i would.
My 944 had a little plastic clip broke on the drivers side up on the heater box, and the so the door flapper switch contact was made , so the heat would would be on all the time blowing on your feet. A $3 part, 20 years ago, IDK now

I found that number written on the paper option tag on underside of the bonnet. I did try it but it didn't work. Do you have to hit enter after.
thanks for the help.

When the car came up to temp the DME relay would over heat and fail and the fuel pump would stop running . Installed new DME relay and it runs like a top now.
