Sportec just confirmed that part will solve my issue.

Before ordering and moving the money, does anyone have any experience with California Motorsports Inc ? Can I trust them they will ship me a brand new item as advertised?

The Sportec dudes should now be back from Easter-lalaland, so we'll see how we proceed... Will keep this thread updated for the future generations.

Hi all,

Been quite silent in the last few... years(?). My Turbo has now over 540'000 km (335'000 mi). Got a new suspension last year (Bilstein B16 PSS10), and a lot of plastic parts have been replaced (front underbody, wheel wells, etc. With the Sportec Stage 3+ (593hp, 820Nm/600lbft), the baby is still pushing strong. Yeah, only pushing and not pulling: we've also removed the front shaft.

Recently, the tranny decided it had enough: the bell housing had a failure. 🤯

Sportec says that Porsche only replaces complete trannies, not only the bell housing. I can (partly) follow the reasoning, but my bank account can't. Here in Switzerland, a full tranny is  around CHF 17k (USD 18k).

Now, I've just bumped into this:

I'll double-check with Sportec to see whether it'd be suitable, but what do you guys think? Did anybody go that path yet? Any thoughts, advices, hints to share? 

This car has been with me for 20 years, and I intend to keep it. Moreover, my son already said he wants to inherit it. So I've got no choice.

I doubt it would make a significant difference on open roads. For track use, yes. Otherwise I don't see the necessity of an upgrade.

Just my 2 cents. Open to different opinions.

What about trying the good old reset first?

Open the window completely, then close it but stay on the button for something like 30 sec when it's all up. 30 sec might be too long, but I don't remember the exact duration. [emoji6]

Yeah, accumulator and slave had been replaced on my car too.

Got my baby back. Instead of the announced CHF 1k, they wanted to charge me CHF 1.8k (USD 2k). I told the guys it's quite a stretch from 1k, and they went down to CHF 1.4k (USD 1.55k), which is ok.

Besides that, the whole 'experience' was excellent: friendly people all the way, the car was delivered in top condition, etc. Kudos to www.porsche-lausanne.ch.

I will post pics of the faulty parts soon.

Yes, I will ask for the details when I'll pick up my baby. And I've also asked the shop to keep the broken parts so that I understand the issue.

Mileage? Just passed 416'000 km (258'500 miles). Not bad, but still much less than T2 and his 350'000+ miles!

Some news already: it's just a hose and the tank, so no big deal. Still about CHF 1k (USD 1100) including labor.

Good old TT just suffered a complete (and sudden) loss of power steering fluid. It happened at the very end of a 200km trip (mostly highway). Driving out of the highway, I noticed a noise coming from the front when steering. Luckily, I reached destination quickly. A look at the fluid level made it clear: the stick was dry. The fluid had just finished to leak and the last drops were falling to the ground under the engine.

The car is now at a local Porsche dealer. I wonder whether it's just a hose, the pump, or... ?

You're definitely not the only one looking for a solution... ;)

Similar issue here. My guess is that it happened during some of my... trackdays. When the group gathers to listen at an instructor's speech, people often sit (or lean) on the car's comfy hips. Some probably don't really pay attention and might sit on the light itself, which of course might damage it. Just a guess...

Had the very same issue a while ago. It even might be mentioned somewhere on Renntech... ;)

It was a hose, but on the right hand side of the car. Probably something similar in your case.

A few yars back, I had to replace the coolant tank. Kind of a known issue.

When you say "turn back to original", I guess you mean back to the Sportec setup, but without the IPD plenum, right? BTW, do you have the Sportec Stage 1 upgrade?

I'm sorry I can't help (just have no clue), but I wouldn't do any 'external' mods to an already chipped engine. Having a patchwork of optimizations probably doesn't help on the long term.

Anyway, I hope someone here will be able to help you!
