  1. All colors have a clear coat.

Over the years I have heard claims that the paint is made by Glasurit (owned by BASF), or Sikkens, or Spies Hecker (owned by Dupont). In reality Porsche could have several suppliers, and different suppliers depending on where the car is assembled.

There was an article in one of the magazines, I think Panorama, and it was said to be Dupont.

thanks for the info, I usually use Dupont when I paint so when (if) I try to paint anything I should be able to get resopectable results with locally mixed Dupont.

  2. Its held on by the single bolt underneath which clamps the trim against the twin outlets on the back box muffler. There is also a small bent piece on the frontedge on the top of the trim which hooks onto the seam of the muffler box

All trims are stainless, even the Tequipment one from the 550 anniversary

Thanks, that's what I saw (including the small bent piece at the front), the bolt must be corroded, it wouldn't turn much more then 1/8 of a turn.

I might have to either use an impact wrench or drill the bolt out as I don't want to damage where the bolt goes in... I was planning to polish the tip, currenlty is appears to have a 'sand blasted' look.
