According to my parts listing, I think you're looking for the radio shelf unit - 996.552.253.01.01C. Verify w/ Suncoast or your local dealer. I assume you are also replacing you're AMP? I understand that the M680 AMP will not work w/out the control panel you have. Good luck and let us know what you are replacing it with. Others here may have done the same and can give you some add'l help.
I plan on replacing the radio with this one

I am still in the panning stages atm. I had not considered replacing the amp.
I do plan on taking a drive to see my dealer.
thanks

The storage bin for just above the batwing where the DSP unit is is 996 552 243 01 01C.
Do you actually own a model year 1999 with the DSP option?
The reason I ask is that I have never seen it in person on a 1999, but it is shown in the Porsche publications for 1999. First time I saw it in person was for model year 2000.
Yes, I do own a 1999 2.5L Artic Silver Boxster. I bought it in June (3rd owner) only 41k miles on it.
thanks for the part number

Hello all
I have a 99 Boxster that I am considering replacing the radio in. This is my current configuration:
Obviously I will not need the surround sound controls after replacing the radio. I want to replace the surround sound module with a storage compartment so that it will look like this:
What is the part number for the bottom compartment just above the batwing?
thanks

I just put Kumhos on my 99 Boxster. Not a complaint here, but I cannot speak for the performance of the summer only tires.
I replaced the Fuzion ZRIs (75% worn) with these - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...R&minLoad=S
Living in Kentucky, there's a lot of weather variations on a daily basis, so I decided to go with all seasons. We'll see how they do in the snow later on this year.

With that model radio, is it possible to use the current amp and dsp?
thanks
