  1. I just ordered a aux cable from becker so I can use the cd changer wiring for XM radio, and i noticed there are RCA wires from the CDC-3 changer. Can I use these? I actually was planning on use the terk commander head unit and and tuner box. This would give me a digital signal correct? Or am I trying to do more than can be done with the system. I have the upgraded bose system that sounds really good with a CD, so i was hoping for the same quality with the XM set up

  2. You can use the CDC input if you want direct connection from XM unit to head unit instead of FM modulation. You'll get better sound but FM modulation isn't bad by any means. Most don't even realize the difference, especially if you don't have the Bose system.

Do a search on Ipod and you can use the same method to hook up XM for input. Doesn't Delphi sell accessory so you can clip the controller to the vent or velcro to dash? Take a look at Bestbuy to see if they have other XM controller that looks/fits better. There is a lot of selection now.

When you say CDC unit, are you talking about the 6 disc changer in the trunk?

  3. TD,

Since we only use an "input" signal, you don't have to worry, there is no output on the relay. (towards the speedo signal) The relay on your car will be differenct, the circuit also. ( ending 01 , 02 and today 03) . As long as you cut out the diode going to pin 1 of the relay, your fine.

If you want to "undo" the mod, just walk in a radio shack shop, ask for 1N4148 diodes ( probably 10 ct/pcs or less) and solder the diode in place.

    Best, Eddy

I will have to say I was a little hesitant, but what the heck, you only go around once! LOL It was a 5 minute job at the most. Thanks so much for this excellent post!!
