  1. Hi,

I checked and the front brakes are just like the rears. The

sensors fit into the brakes. You would use a small screwdriver

and pry the sensor out. The only metal clip I see is the

one that holds the pads in. If you post a picture

I think we can all see the problem you are running

up against. The sensor wire is replaceable. I bought

racing brake pads and zipped the wires out of the way.

  2. Hi,

Installing the wheel spacers is ease. Remove wheel, install

spacer with little screws that come with the spacers, and put

back wheel with longer bolts that come with the spacers.

My tire wear is still very even across the tire with the spacers.

I have not aligned the car.

  3. Hi,

I have a extingisher in my car but my brother does not.

I know that the extingisher is option code 1509.

My brother has a 997 4S with all electric seats.

Some of the racing brackets are pricey so a

factory bracket should also be pricey but it

    will help with the choices.

Please provide a part number for the fire extingisher bracket.

    Thank you,

    Paul

  4. Hi,

I would look for wheel spacers. They are a add to

the car. Look at where the wheel conects to the hub and

see if there is a 1/4" spacer in this place.

I bought the stock spacers but I wished I had bigger spacers. The

only problem with bigger spacers are bad camber and

bad tire wear. I know you can get adjustable plates but

the adjustment list of goodies increases with speed.

  5. Hi,

According to the owners manual you just push the bottom

    in.

Here is the text on it.

    Practical Tips, Emergency Service 281

    Towing

Certain state statutes and local ordinances prohibit

towing with a chain, rope or even a tow bar.

In addition, damage to your vehicle may result

    from improper procedures.

Consult your authorized Porsche dealer for details.

    Vehicle towing

Flat bed towing is the preferred type of towing to

    be used on Porsche vehicles.

Under certain circumstances, wheel lifts may be

used when the vehicle will not roll.

The vehicle must be towed with all four

wheels off the ground, otherwise damage to

    the vehicle may result.

    Towing hook

The towing hook is contained in the tool kit.

    Caution!

Risk of damage to the vehicle.

f Use the towing hook only for an emergency to

remove the vehicle off the road. The towing

hook is to be used only to pull the vehicle onto

the flat bed, tractor or towing aparatus if the

vehicle will roll freely. Under no circumstances

is the vehicle to be secured using the towing

    hook.

f Never use the towing hook to tow this or any

    other vehicle.

f Bear in mind the limited ground clearance of

    your car on uneven surfaces.

    Front mounting

The towing hook is A stored in the tool box in the

    luggage compartment.

    1. Press the lower edge of the appropriate

plastic cover into the bumper until the cover

    disengages.

    2. Pull cover out of the bumper and let it hang by

    its thread.

    3. Completely screw in the towing hook.

    Rear mounting

    1. Remove license plate.

    2. Unscrew the towing hook A.

    3. Insert plastic cover at the lower edge of the

    opening.

    4. Fold the cover up and press on its upper edge

to engage it in the bumper.

    5. Completely screw in the towing hook.

  6. Hi,

There should be no ground strap from the transmission

to the body. I look at some 997 details and there is a strap

from the starter to the body. The strap starts at a bolt that is

very close to the flywheel and runs to the body.

I would find the starter and see if there is a gound

    strap installed.

There are plenty of transmission hangers that should ground the transmission
