  1. Hi,

    My car had the odometer and the clock adjuster switched when

    I picked it up. I asked the dealer how much work is involved

    in the switch and he said alot of time. I also read a story that another

    person had the dealer work on the gages and now he has to deal with

    a rattle. At the time, I figured I could live with the knobs if

    I did not have to listen to a rattle.

    I now have read a story that the cluster is held in by two torx screws. This

    sounds like a cake walk in switching the knobs. I would do it myself

    but the car is still under warranty.

    Does anyone know how much time is involved in switching the knobs?

  2. I had no success so I sent Loran an email that the site was closed. He sent me the part

    list. This list is a great thing to have. I will be joining the renntech website

    shortlly because of this valuable information. This is a great site and

    I highly recommend it to all Porsche owners. I like to DIY and this site

    is well worth the money to get valualbe information.

    You likely don't need a PET program.

    You can download free parts listings (taken from PET) at Porsche's Technical website.

    Click on the link here and then choose your country. After that choose Workshop Information then Genuine Parts. Choose your car model and then download the parts listing. (You can also find this link in our Links tool at the top of any page).

  3. I have sport seats and they are great for track use. You have

    a great picture but the fire extinghisher is under the wrong seat.

    I have the Sports Seats in my 996 and my wife has standard seats in her Boxster. We have had our cars for going on 4 years and respectively. We have both riden in or driven both cars several hundred miles in just a few days while traveling and my wife has said several times that the Sports Seats in my Carrera are the most comfortable seats she has ever sat in. I have to agree with her on this. We have had a couple of Jags and her daily driver is an '06 Lexus RX 400h which is fairly comfortable. I like the way Sports Seats look, especially with the backs finished in the body color and the ability to show them off in a Cab. They will be a "must have" in my next Porsche.

  5. Hi Craig,

    The weld tabs are on my 997 S 2006.

    I bet there are on a 997 GT-3. I feel that the only way they

    would leave the tabs off is if they installed a factory roll bar cage.

    Let me know what you find. I would love to buy a GT-3 Cup

    car with sequential shift.

    Hi,

    If you look at the carpet under the rear window you should see small breaks. You

    would then get some tin snips and carefully cut the carpet. Under

    neath the carpet are brackets welded to the frame. You can use these

    as seat belt brackets.

    As said above.... we still don't know if the 997 GT3 has the rear belt bosses welded onto the unibody (like the 996 GT3 does) or not.
