  1. Hi Loren, Thank you for the response. The company I own sells Fluke Test Equipment (Authorized Distributor). And, we use to sell alot of ScopeMeters, DMMs and accessories to the training center when it was located in Reno Nevada. We still sell to the American Honda, Mazda, and Mercedes Benz training centers. I'll have to give them a call and find out the scoop on the PST2. By the way, I live in the Sacramento area. Regards, John
  2. Hi Loren, I have a couple PST2 questions: Where would be a good place to purchase a Porsche System Tester II (PST2)? And, what part number do I reference? I understand this is very spendy (approx. $7500.00) diagnostic tool. How often does Porsche upgrade the PST2 software? Are updates available and what is the cost? Best Regards, John
  3. Hi Loran, Thanks for the follow-up on the part numbers. Laugh! No, not this time, I didn't over torque the screws. I'd like to design some nice knurled thumb screws to replace these pieces using CAD/CAM Pro Engineer. This would make it a little easier to remove the plastic covers. Your thoughts on this... Regards, John
  4. Hi Loran, Can I get the part numbers for the T25 Torx screw and rubber/metal nut that secure the plastic panels that cover the pollen filter area (passenger side) and washer fluid filler area (driver side). I need the part number for the screws the attach the top intake air filter housing lid to the bottom air filter housing assembly. Finally, I need the part number for the two hold-down screws for the battery plastic cover. These are all for a 2003 996 C2. Thanks much! John
  5. Hi Karl, Thanks for the information. I believe the earlier radios revert to a Code function when the battery is disconnected. To re-activate the radio a pass code must be entered into the radio. If the code is unavailable, it can be read from the DME control module or you have to contact Porsche IPAS. I wasn't sure if you have to use the same protocol with the CDR23 unit. Regards, John
  6. I can't seem to find the "lock code" for my CDR23 radio. I've looked through all the literature that was provided with my 03 996 and I couldn't find any reference to the code number. I'd like to have it handy just in case their's a problem. Any suggestions? Or do I go back to the dealer for the info.?
  7. Hi Dave, Thanks for the tip. It looks like it's going to be a very time consuming project. Thanks again, John
  8. I recently bought a 2003 996 C2. Apparently, at the factory, they applied a thick undercoating on the bottom of the engine assembly. There's alot of overspray on other components too. This tan goop looks like hell. Can I remove it without getting into a warranty issue? I'm in California were severe weather/road conditions are not an issue, i.e, road salt, etc. Thanks, John
