Tool Pants,
Can I get the part number for the 5-Way Female Black Connector and Terminals.
Thanks!
John
-
Yes sir! That's them.

Hi LV,
Thanks for the follow-up information. I'll probably order them from Sunset Porsche in Oregon. Cost plus 15% is a pretty good deal. Which brake bleeder did you end up using?
John
-
Hi LV,
The believe the brake caliper part numbers are as follows:
Front Axle
996.351.425.01 L/H
996.351.426.01 R/H
Rear Axle
996.352.421.03 L/H
996.352.422.03 R/H
How did your brake caliper install go? What was the total cost? I'm probably going to do the same on my 03.
Regards,
John

Hi Loren,
Do you have any idea what year/model the Spoiler Extend/Retract Switch (996.613.155.00.A05) came on? I can only find information on the switch located in the fuse support center below fuse holder "E" and left of the emergency power pin. I also need the mating connector and terminal(s) part number too.
Thanks much!

Thanks for the information guys. Hummm...... I ordered my service manual in July 2003 and their's been 55 supplements in little over a year? That's amazing! I believe I filled out an update supplement card and sent it into Porsche. They have never notified me. I wonder what's up with that.
Porsche TSI wants $5200.00 for a one year subscription or $110.00 per document fee. I think that's a little too much. And, I understand the manual set is $2000.00 now.
What I really need it the wiring diagram supplements for the 03. If you have the number, I'll order it.
Thanks much!

Hi Loren,
Thanks for the information. I'm at supplement WKD 483721.39. So I'll order supplements WKD 483721. (40) (41) (42). I'm assuming these supplements include all the updates for groups 0 through 9?
Best Regards,
John

I need to bring my 996 service/shop manuals to current date. I need the part number(s) for the 03/04 supplements. That's if they are still available.

The part number for the Porsche Parts Catalog CD (pdf format) is: 000-043-400-05

Thanks! I'll give them a jingle. :D

Howdy Loren,
Do you have the part number for this CD? I'll add it to my upcoming Sunset order. And, does Sunset sell B&M shifters by chance?

John

Hi mffarrell,
The build date on my car was January 2003.

Many thanks to Loren, Boxer6, and Scouser. That's what I was leaning towards was the B&M instructions. While I got it apart, I might as well install the shifter kit too.
mffarrell,
I'll check the production date for you tomorrow. By the way, my car is a couple.
When I called the service department and advised them of the seat campaign, they told me they never heard about it. Finally they figured it out and ordered the seats. Then they told me they would notify me when the seats came in. They never did! I had to call them two months later. So I took the car in on Friday and they said they would call to let me know when it was done. No phone call! I showed up at 5:00pm and it had been done for awhile. Then I find the gouge in the console and point it out to the service manager and technician. The technician stated the seats were very heavy and difficult to get in and out. I asked him what method he used to protect the console. It claims he used a fender cover. Niello's customer service is poor. Period!

On Friday, I took my 2003 C2 to the local Porsche dealership here in Sacramento for the seat replacement campaign. Apparently while removing or installing the passenger seat, the technician put a 6" gouge in the center console. Naturally the technician played dumb. " I don't remember doing that". So after a brief go-around with the service manager and the technician , they agreed to replace the console. I'd like to replace the console myself. Can I get the R&R procedure so I can do it myself. I don't care for this dealership and was reluctant to take it there in the first place. I certainly don't want them to touch the car again. :soapbox:

Hi msindi,
My car has the regular heated seats with memory.

Hi Loren,
I received my Porsche Customer Campaign Notice (A309) in the mail today. The notice states the dealer will replace both front seats at no charge. Apparently Porsche's seat supplier made a manufacturing error. Therefore the seats do not meet strength standards demanded by Porsche.

Hi b-man,
Thank you for the response and feedback. That's definitely a problem. I've experienced it on my 03 car numerous times. With knurled screw set, you can use your thumb and forefinger to pull up and tighten at the same time. This puts enough pressure on the rubber nut to keep it in place. With the factory Torx screws, you can't do this. So the rubber nut spins in place. I hope this answers your question.

Hi Loren,
Thank you for the posting information. Here's a sneak preview picture of the Cover Hold-Down Thumb Screw Set. This kit allows easy access to the cowl/pollen filter area for cleaning and maintenance. For convenience, the screws are slotted and can be tightened with a 25 cent piece (quarter). Of course, a screwdriver can be used too. The screws in the picture are unplated. However, when finished, they will be black anodized. This kit is a direct replacement for the two factory Torx #20 hold-down screws (999 073 143 09). The kit also includes two new nuts (999 500 092 00). Your feedback is always appreciated

Hi Loren,
I've completed the hold-down thumb screw set for the left and right covers (996 572 561 01C) and (996 572 562 01C). They turned out very nice. How do I post a picture of them so I can get input from the group?
Best Regards,

Hi Loren,
Is there any information available for relocating the Tail Lift "TIP" switch (996 613 155 00) from the fuse panel to the center console? And, is there a part number for the connector and terminals that plug into the switch assembly?
Best Regards,
John

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the response. You're right! Danaher bought Fluke several years ago. Then they bought Pomona Electronics. Then Wavetek. Then Raytek. And several other small T&M companies. It's interesting how the business world works. I'll check with a couple of my old contacts at the Porsche Training Center and see what I can find out. I'll let you know. By the way, if you need any Fluke T&M equipment, drop me an email.
Regards,
John
