2004 Cayenne S
75,000 miles
-
I get this failure messages .
I read this is the servo motor that needs to be replaced.
Is this something it can be done without reprograming the car?
-
-
Did it with the engine on, in neutral, will only take 4 quarts, and gearbox is slipping, tried it again and wont accept more tranny oil.
Please can anyone give me an idea?
-

Cayenne S 2004
Used the have rough idle now lost power and misfires.
Connected the durametric tool and reads the following codes.
PO 300 Misfire
PO 302 Cylinder 2 misfire
PO 303 Cylinder 3 misfire
Any ideas ? I read it could be the coils.
How hard is to get to the sparkplugs?

Does anyone knows or advice how to find out?

Went off roading and just before hitting the hard section I stopped for a while, and when I re started the car and wanted to put low range, it will just do nothing! no light no engage nothing.
Shut the car re started and worked fine.
Drove the nasty long downhill, with low range and the differential on.
At the bottom, my friend's tire blew out , so shut the car put spare tire , then re started and was in low range, tried to put differential on, and nothing, wouldnt engage.
Drove 5 minutes stoped again , and this time engaged.
No alarms or warnings on the instrument panel, so i guess its ok.
But I dont like having this issues.
has anyone heard of something like this before?

motoadve, best if you get a Durametric tester or go to you OPC and get a scan. From experience faults like this are very hard to diagnose without a scan. I too had a Air Suspension fault and at the same time a PSM fault. Everything worked OK with the car just that the beeps on starting and the constant yellow ! was a pain. A scan indicated a pressure sensor but without access to Poses it hard to go any further. After mucho scrathing and a search of Poses (the Porsche version of Ektra, available on ebay) turns out it was the small pressure transducer on the brake master cylinder (So still don't know why it gave me an air suspension fault and a PSM fault together), fix was a £30 sensor and a full brake bleed. Still after that decided to buy the Porsche extended warranty, then guess what, nothing goes wrong with the car. Good luck with your problem
Thanks
it stop doing it for the past 2 days
But took it to the dealer and the Piwis tester found a register of a sensor fault.
But it auto fixed itself.
Might have been caused because the car was jacked to take a spoiler out, that happened Friday, Saturday, Sunday Monday I get the alarm
The car is jacked again Tuesday to change a tire.
No more alarm!!!
Hopefully doesnt come back, at least we know its a sensor if it comes back

No warranty.
Hope is just a simple thing.
It works normal so shouldnt be that dramatic.

Today I got the air suspension warning this morning.
The air suspension is working fine, rises and lowers the car , stays at the height I program , suspension feels fine.
Took a 150 off road trip (was the plan when I left the house and when I got this warning).
Warning kept coming on during the day, not inmediatelly but sometimes after 5 minutes other times after 30.
Drove the hell out the cayenne today, and worked awesome, technical steep climbs and descends, rocky roads, fast , slow, and the car and suspension felt great.
So any ideas what could this be? I get the warning but works fine.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Its a Cayenne S 2004, do you guys know if there has been a recall for this in 2004 model?
-
it has Xenon and the cornering bulbs are there , and in good condition, not burnt ,but dont work.
And thew computer doesnt show a fault.
Yes Im talking about cornering lights
-
Bulbs are fine, but they dont light up.
Any ideas?
Its a 2004 Cayenne S Xenon lights

Is this normal?
If I take a speed bump at a bit more speed than usual and the front tires lift a bit, I hear and feel a clunk noise when the suspension fully extends.
Suspension feels great it has air suspension and PASM.
But this is way more noticeable when driving off road.
Clunk noise when fully extending the shock, after a big rock or passing a hole ect.
Im not sure of this is normal, my friend with a Range Sport and air suspension said it is because the shock extends a lot more with this kind of suspension.
-
ts my first manual car since 1988.
Everyng works fine.
One question when changing gears at high rpms 5k to 7k is it normal to feel the clutch pedal a bit tingly or a feeling of the rpms in the pedal when depressing the clutch? (kind of hard to explain) feels like the clutch is in sand

You need have your car towed to your dealer.
Could be a blown headgasket or other internal damage.
The smoke was from the right side and a little bit, but not from the exaust.
-
When I was loosing coolant today, the temperature needle went all the way between 3/4' s and the red light (it never reached the red light)
Will these damage the motor?
After the car cooled down and I put a gallon of coolant , I did a couple of fast runs just to see if it was ok , and the motor seemed normal.
-
Look for leaks first - almost two gallons of coolant is a lot to lose.
I assume no smoke?
Yes white smoke, but I see no leaks

My first drive in mynew pre owned Porsche certified Cayman S with 9155 miles
Woke up at 4:30 to go on my first drive , empty twsities , perfect conditionds, was very impressed with the car, mostly second gear twisties one after the other non stop I was pushing it and having fun.
One hour later I was
returning and was coming up the twisties, mostly thigh turns and after the
other second gear uphill, fast ,when I got the light of check engine
coolant, and the temperature started rising, I stopped let it cool down and
drove it slowly to the gas station (the dial never got to the red part but
was 3/4s.
Waited 1 hr for the car to cool down, and I put in the car a full gallon of
coolant
Drove again in the twisties and 8 miles later again, the light of check
engine coolant came on,I stopped inmediatelly since I brought a spare
gallon of coolant, and this time it took 3/4 of a gallon of coolant, Im at
the top of the hills so from there to my house is just 20 miles but mostly
downhill, I drove slow to my house , never passsing 3,000 rpms, the light
never came on again , and the temperature needle never rised from the center.
Seems to be that only when driving the car hard the coolant is lost.
Could anyone tell what could this mean?

Here is the reply from the battery manufacturer
The 70 AH rating refers to the Reserve time for the battery – this is like fuel in the tank. Basically the reserve time rating give and indication of how long the headlights, interior lights and other accessories to function without the car running. Our B3121 has a 31 ah rating and has proven to be sufficient for all types of vehicles.
Next is the 340A rating – this refers to the cranking power – like horsepower of the battery.
The B3121 has 550CCA and over 1300 pulse cranking amps – as you can see you’ll have plenty of power with this battery.
What do you guys think?
Should I go for it?
-
Thank you Paul.
So will this one work?
Im not tech inclined so dont understand what the specs means.
I live in Costa Rica, weather is never below 70 degrees
# Racing Battery21 lbs
# 6.60'' x 5.20'' x 6.80''
# 1300 Cranking Amps
147-B3121
At 21 pounds this battery offers over 1300 cranking amps, but still weighs 50% less than its closest competitor. Perfect for Audio Systems, Extreme Motors, High Compression, Supercharger Systems, Large Cams, Underdirce Pulleys and No Alternators. 6.60'' x 5.20'' x 6.80'' 550 cca (0 degrees)/742ca (32 degrees)/1380ca (80 degrees).
Or this one?
