  1. 987 Triptronic Boxster.

Will any of these batteries work?

    They have enough power?

I use the car twice or once a week.

My intention is loosing some weight on the car, Im installing an AWE exhaust which is 15 pounds lighter, sounds better and claims a few more torque and HP.

So another 30 pounds less with a lightweight battery was my next decission.

  2. Hi

    Trey fvd.de article FVD 987 100 02 - 5.548,00 Euro without tax and shipment ( engine tuning kits 2.7 litre - 265Hp @6500 rpm 295Nm @ 5000 - 5500 rpm

I live in Costa Rica, the Boxster base 987 triptronic I have, I use for Sunday drives in the twisty mountains.

    Our fuel is 87 Octane

I drive at 4,000 to 6,000 feet most of the time, and would like to have some more HP.

So for my type of conditions will a ECU reprogram help?

    An exhaust even help more?

I cannot get a manual or an S, simply there are none in Costa Rica

  3. Ok I live in Costa Rica, I have a 05 Base 987 triptronic, I love it (yes even with the triptronoc), I have this car as a toy not everyday drive, only Sundays early to go on the mountain twisties.

Buying an S is not an Option unless is new $100,000 , Buying a manual version is not an option either (there are non used).

So will putting all those upgrades to my car make any more HP?

Or is a waste of money?

Will putting all these compromise the car's reliability?

I Called Fabspeed and they told me the following.

    Exaust +10 HP

    Headers witout cats +10HP

    ECU reprogram +10 to 15HP

    Air intake +5HP

So total about 35 to 40 HP?

    Does this sounds realistic?

Now if I put the lighweight battery, carbon Hood and the saved weight of the muffler, Im shaving like 80 pounds of the weight.

So will these weight reduction plus the 30 to 40 extra HP will be noticeable???

  4. I had the same problem , spent a whole day with an aftermarket guy trying to fix it.

Then he attached a small box to the battery of the car that fools the computer and lets it think it has the OEM light cunsumption.

After this, no more problems, only cost $50

motoadve, can you please tell me the name/brand of the box, I would really appreciate this, as no one has been able to help me on this, not even my dealership, porsche tuner shops, no one! Also, how exactly do you connect it to the battery, thanks a lot bro.

I will try to find out and let you know

  5. The tool provided with your car cannot be used to fix the angle, I've tried and it's to big, you need a smaller size. Go to your porsche dealer and tell them that the angle on the headlight is too low, they'll fix it.

How did you installed HID's on your car?? I ask this because I installed them before and I got messages on my onboard computer telling me "left dipped lamp" and "right dipped lamp", and sometimes they wouldn't turn on at all.

    Thanks
