  1. Had a look just now; on the bottom of the door are two nuts (under grommets), loosening those and pushing them toward the outside skin of the door, I was able to effectively pivot the window laterally so that the window now creates a tighter seal against the inner rubber skirt going up the A pillar along and down the B pillar. Will see if that has reduced wind noise on Sunday.
  2. Thread revival 😄. I had an old Forester years ago with frameless doors and the same problem; caused by people closing the door pushing the window, rather than the door itself and stressing the area around the mirror triangle that closes onto the A pillar. At speed the window could get sucked out a little and create loads of wind noise. The fix on those cars was to get some mole-grips and push together the soft metal of the inner and outer triangle parts - that guide the window up - so the window couldn't move outwards. Not had the guts to try Mole-grips on my 996 though 😄
