What models share the same body shell in the 997's?
EG the 996 GT3,GT2,TT,C4S, GT3 RS, the race cars GT3 Cups, R,RS,RSR --all shared the same basic body shell that was different to others in the range.
So --how do the 997's go?

What are the issues with 997 series engines( 3.6,3.8) being fitted to 996? Would trans bolt straight on ( Tip in particular but are also interested in manual fit) . What would need to be with engine that is not interchangeable? Thx in advance.

Where is the bosch unit available from/ /? What price is it/? Do you know of anyone that has used it? What problems are there likely to be in getting it to work?

What if I simply put metric background to speedo? Does any mechanical part change or is it just the background?
-
Like everything -- not a simple answer. It is an English loom and intruments--from the same car.I am in Australia-- metric etc. originals were water damaged--so rather than risk all the complications have opted to replace as much as possible.Cheaper than chasing individual problems!

Can an imperial MPH speedo be converted to KMH metric? If so how?

Porsche flash or 3rd party flash?
3rd party. The same problem existed prior to flash. Sort of hoped flash might solve the problem!

Without looking at the MAF (with a PST2 or PIWIS tester) it is impossible to tell if it is functioning correctly.
Either you have had bad MAF's, you have a wiring problem or your brake light switch is intermittent. Another possibility is an intake leak - do you have the stock intake system?
Car completely stock. Recent flash upgrade - problem was present before flash.

03 TT tip -- systems 2 says Air Mass Meter Fault. Car is OK on start up and warming up. Leave for 20 minutes and come back, ABS ABD does not work. It then hunts at idle and run rough. The Air Mass Metre has been replaced 3 times.
Any help much appreciated
