  1. I've driven it over a couple of hundred miles since the monitors were checked. I still have the Secondary Air monitor not resetting. The car runs great, but unless it can be cleared, can't pass smog test. I think that the air oil separator lets oil through during the secondary air pump cycle causing the white smoke that starts just after the cycle starts and stops when its over at three minutes. When the monitors were checked they thought there might be an air leak- but didn't check to find one.
  2. My 2001 S (81K mi.) can’t pass smog. Engine running great. No codes show up. When I start it, exhaust is clear until air pump runs. White smoke starts but ends when air pump shuts off. Car runs fine after that. I paid to make sure monitors are working. Was told to “just drive it” and all would be cleared. I’ve done the exact road test prescribed- 7 of 8 cleared. Secondary air won’t clear. Oil fill cap test- no issue- turns freely at all times. Air oil separator is prime suspect but not certain. I don’t want to start replacing parts hoping to get the right one. Any ideas?
