  1. New member although I've read a lot of posts on the forum. I've done a lot of searching and couldn't find an answer for this one. I bought my car 4 or 5 months ago and it's been great so far. The bose system sucks so I installed a new amp/speakers last weekend. Everything is installed very cleanly, good grounds, solid connections, no backwards connections, clean runs etc. I've done this many times over the years. I've been trying to diagnose some weird pops/noise in the stereo. I tried everything I could think of, checked every connection, isolated things one by one, even reset the amp DSP and updated firmware, and ended up stumped. I then went back to basics and noticed the extra stud/nut on the ground battery cable and wondered what it's purpose was. I eventually realized that I'm probably missing a ground cable. There is only one battery ground cable on my car. The short large gauge one that connects to the chassis/frunk. I then looked for pics/videos of battery installation and it looks like it's a second smaller gauge ground cable that goes somewhere that I can't identify from the pics and videos I've seen. I've searched that whole area in the car and can't see a cable or ring terminal or potential attachment point. I figure it must run somewhere else maybe to the back of the car but not sure. Can somebody tell me where that second cable runs to so I can track it down please or give me some better pics or any kind of guidance on what to potentially look for other than the possible ground cable issue to solve the noise in the stereo. Much appreciated.
