  1. Hi all, I dropped the bolt that goes in the valve cover and holds part of the wiring harness while taking it off and lost it to the abyss unfortunately. Does anyone happen to know the part number or thread size for this bolt? This is for a 2007 957 4.8L V8 Cayenne S. I have looked all over but cannot for the life of me find it. Much appreciated!
  2. I have an update: I started the car while the engine was cold, and it didn't throw a single code. This is eerily similar to the behavior I was having before replacing the crankshaft position sensor. If I'm reading this correctly it leads me to believe the new crankshaft position sensor came with a same/similar issue to the old one, or there is some issue with the wiring harness or DME that only presents itself with heat? Will probably order another CPS to rule out the former, if the issue persists after installing it's almost guaranteed to be something upstream from the sensor (which sounds like a bad time).
  3. What did you get it for? Has got to have been a steal for the amount of "annoying" issues! Keep us updated!
  4. Hi all, My 957 2008 Cayenne S 4.8L V8 was having issues starting when the engine was hot, I tracked this down to a faulty crankshaft position sensor mainly due to my scan tool showing the `P0335 Crankshaft position sensor 'A' circuit` code. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor and all seemed well, it started right up (the engine was cold so this was expected). I went for a drive and everything seemed normal as well. Until I had been driving on the highway for about 15 minutes at 70-80 mph, the engine cut off (or stalled, not sure). The check engine light came on and I was forced to stop on the side of the highway. I was able to start it up after a longer then usual crank and limp home on side-roads. Throughout this drive the engine didn't stall or act differently in any way (although I didn't dare to push it past 2k RPM). When I got home I pulled the codes and these were present: P0335 Crankshaft position sensor A circuit P1026 fuel high pressure implausible P2414 oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic convert bank 1 - in air P2415 oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic convert bank 2 - in air P1023 fuel high pressure too low during starting After clearing the codes, and restarting the engine the codes came right back. I checked the crankshaft position sensor connector, and it is seated correctly, I didn't mess with the high pressure fuel pump, or the oxygen sensors, so I'm kind of stumped. Is the sensor I just installed a faulty one (despite it being an OE Bosh sensor from FCP Euro: Bosch 0261210292) or is there more to it? With the previous Crankshaft Position Sensor, I've seen the P0335 code several times but never any of the other codes. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mathis.
  5. Aha, that would have been easier! A pair of hose removal pliers will be a great addition to my toolbox. Thanks!
  6. Like I predicted in the post above, it does indeed just "pull out". But you need to pull on it as if your life (or Porsche) depends on it, while making sure not to damage the bottom connector. It's tough because you need to hold the bottom part, but there isn't enough space to properly grip it. In my experience if you can pull it a fair way up you can then twist and turn it all the way off. Good luck to anyone who is changing this part and is having issues getting it off!
  7. Looking at the both sides of the "connector", I'm guessing I should just pull on it until it comes loose. Wish me luck 🤞
  8. Hi all! I'm working on my 2008 957 Porsche Cayenne S and I can't seem to figure out how to remove this brake booster line connector. The part # is 95535557930, it sits in the passenger side of the engine bay right by the coolant expansion tank. It doesn't seem obvious to me, and I don't want to force anything as I'd rather not replace the other end of the hose as well. Any pointers are welcome, thanks!
  9. Gotcha. In that case I will probably just replace the ones underneath the starter motor. I have not had any coolant leak in my "V" so I'm guessing (or hoping) they are still good for a while.
  10. Hi all, I've been working on replacing the starter motor in my 2008 Porsche Cayenne S (957) and while I'm in the "V" I figured I would replace the knock sensors anyway. But now that I have a clear view of them, I'm wondering if there is an easy way to remove and install new ones without taking the coolant pipe (948 106 069 10) off. Since I don't need to remove it to replace the starter, I would like to avoid it if at all possible. I have tried using small torx wrenches and U-joints but nothing seems to fit. I could probably use a pair of pliers but that seems like a less than ideal situation. Wondering if there is a special tool I can use for this that I'm not aware of. Any help is greatly appreciated! PS: My "V" had a bunch of (what seemed like) insulation wool inside of it. I have not seen this in any videos or pictures of other peoples Cayennes. Is this normal, and if so where can I get more?
