so i installed litronics and the car is lowered now.
i followed the instructions on where and how high the beam cutoff should be, but will i have to adjust anything else height wise because the car sits considerably lower now?
any help is appreciated

i dont like how you can see where all the pieces are glued on...
-
double the speed limit and see if you get caught hehe
but yeah, you will loose some sensitivity.

i drove my box last winter on worn out summer tires.
it is doable, but not suggested.
drove it in negative temperature as well..

If your in a rutt and cant find the tool in time, I've actually seperated the ball joint with a plastic hammer and a couple good wacks on the on the spindle where the ball joint is connected to. I've used this on my import car days and it works the same with the boxster too :P
same here, works like a charm

post some pics man, cmon, you know better than this :)
glad it all fit good

hey man, that looks great.
the car is really coming along great

why would you want to get more expencive oil, not sure if it works, and could damage things?
mobile 1 is good as is.

no rub whatsoever. thats why i was asking about the numbers, as they said that this was the best they can get it to factory, and since its lowered the camber cant be adjusted any more out because tires would hit the fenders.
so i suppose, some fender rolling would accommodate some more slack, but not sure

comments on paperwork: aligned best as possible. had suspension. was altered. hmmm
and heres the lowered car, on Gemballa springs
-
on the front calipers, the top bolt broke right where the tool goes to open it up. from the start it was realllly hard to turn.
bottom one is very easy to unscrew once loose.
same thing on the other side, passinger side front, but i didnt even want to try and get it out, so left it alone.
my Q is, is there a reason why the 2 top ones are sooo hard to get out, to the point where the bolt head breaks?
i got new ones, but cant get this one out. (same color as my car strangly enough hehe)
ill go and get it extracted tomorrow morning, but just weird.
any ideas?

I've got the lower stress bar installed along with the two additional bars I came up with. I've also got my car lowered on Gemballa springs. Otherwise the suspension is a stock 2000 S setup with 17" OEM rims. I didn't comment much before because I had been laid up with a broken foot and had some trouble operating the stiff clutch on the Boxster.
Well I can drive a little better now and have some feedback, but it's kind of limited. Basically I think that with the lower stress bar the car's handling is well beyond anything you can reasonably throw at it on public roads. I don't drive at 10/10ths on public roads, that's just stupid. At most maybe I'll push it to 8/10ths if I know the road well and there's no traffic. I feel that with the setup I've got now I can only really push the car to 7/10ths or so before I lose grip - grip that is between my butt pucker and seat. I've thrown my car into some gnarly 90 degree bends as fast as I can and the suspension is planted rock solid. Adhesion from the wheels doesn't even come close to slipping, but I get thrown out of my seat and am holding onto my steering wheel for dear life! I think that the lower stress bar (and possibly the lowering springs) has just raised the handling performance of the car well above what is reasonable for street driving. The limit now for taking turns any faster would be the seat and seatbelt. I would need to go to a race seat and at least four point harness to be able to corner faster, so that I don't get thrown around the car.
So I think that for street driving the Boxster is already a superb handling machine. The lower stress bar just pushes the limit of handling that much higher and beyond what's reasonable. Now track work might be a different story, but I'll have to wait until my foot is completely healed (or is it heeled?) before exploring the limits on a track.

can you post a pic of your drop with Gemballa springs?
i will be installing a set this upcoming Sunday and would like to see the drop.
thx

yeah, there are little things here and there, and some even claim power gain but you actually loose some, but really best upgrade is a bigger engine, its hard to squeeze some power out of these cars without major $
-
they are stock non-S calipers
-
you dont need anything for the front, but if you prefer them to stick out more then you can put some.
they look fine on my car.
and for the rears, it was just a slight rubbing on the shock, so i chose the smallest spacer available that i could find and put them on, and its fine now.
should be lowering the car this weekend with soe Gemballa springs, as well as ROW rear sway bar, and i already installed a rear brace that is in a discussion now, that earnie bar. :)
Just in time for winter :) :) :D

dont really know, its my dads friends shop, so he took them in the morning, and dropped them off at my house in the afternoon. so literly free.
btw, where can you get longer ones for that price?
why didnt you go 275? why only 265?
i plan on going with 285 next time around :)
-
i put this as well. had a bar in garage from other projects, so free mod.
you really can feel the difference in turns, street driving, haven't tried the track yet.
-
no, machine shop.
here they are before painting them black, so u can see how 'thick' the spacer is
-
-
they are shaved off to the same thickness as the spacers, so its up to factory specs on turns and lenth.
-
Nice! hey djomlas did u use your fatory lug nuts? 140mmx1.5 or?nice, got the same ones. just paint those centercaps couse that chrome stuff looks nasty
they are actually 8.5 and 10, but if measured end to end they sure are that wide :)
used stock ones, just machined off the spacers on them.
