i have found that on model year 2002 the fuel system was changed from a return line system to a non return line system. this car looks like its been messed about with ! found a bolt jubilee clamped into a cut off fuel line  but cant see the other end of line . the vin no is wpozzz99z2s608829 can anyone confirm which type or fuel line system this car should have ?

    thanks very much simon

  2. hi all

    i have a porsche 996 carrera 4 2002 model year manual gearbox

it has a fault the longer its left the longer it cranks over before starting.

checked on pst2 no faults found . when a fuel pressure test is done its showing 7 bar at idle and no residual pressure when switched off ? it also takes about 10 seconds of continual cranking to build the pressure up when cold. can anyone confirm the spec for pressure and residual pressure on this model

    many thanks simon

  3. hi all

    carrera 3.2 1987 year model

the engine is in need of a rebuild the vehicle has done 136,000 miles and is burning oil a bit and fouling the plugs up . can anyone advize me on whether the bottom end will need doing as well ? it has good oil pressure and no rumbles ! so i was hoping to get away with valve guides / rings basically a top end rebuild

any suggestions or thoughts greatly recieved

    thanks simon

  4. its strange after i fitted tip ecu went on road test and it changed up into fifth , but after approx 5 minutes stopped going into 5th gear again when into auto mode . however when put into tip mode will select 5th no problem . put it back to auto and as soon as it changes down to fourth when slowing down it will not go back into 5th. <_<

    yours very puzzled

    simon

  5. hi all

thanks for your replies . today flushed the box through with clean oil and checked level. went out on road test all was fine selecting 5th gear ok until i selected tip mode !! would not go into tip mode so switched ignition off then back on then it would select tip and auto. tip worked fine but in auto wont change into 5th again under any conditions except when in auto and 4th if you put it into tip and select 5th then go back to auto it stays in 5th !!! until it changes down as you slow down . cant see reset adaptions or kickdown on pst2 [ver 24 software] its a 2.5 not a 2.7 sorry . thinking like been suggested poss tip ecu fault ????

    thanks simon
