Hi All,
I just installed the ROW M030 suspension on my 2001 C2 Cab. I remember seeing alignment specs before but can't seem to find them anymore. I want to be able to give the shop the proper specs rather than relying on them to have it.
Thanks
Tom

Springs are as follows;
Ft - green on top, green/red on bottow
Rr - green on top, green/yellow on bottom
How can I tell about the rear springs from the vin? is it in the PET or do I need to contact a dealer?
What about the bump stops?
-
Rear stabilizer is pn 996 333 701 25 -- correct
rear springs with pn 996 333 531 13 -- maybe correct - these springs were based on VIN
Front shocks - 996 343 041 16 -- correct replaced by 996 343 041 17
Front stabilizer - 996 343 701 04 -- correct replaced by 996 343 701 21
Rear shocks - 996 333 051 13 -- correct replaced by 996 333 051 14
These are all older revs of parts - were they new?
Yes, just purchased from private party, still in plastic bags, never installed.
my vin is WPOCA29931S65XXX
I'm confused about tha compensation plates, which ones do I need? Also, I didn't get new bump stops, do I need new ones or can I reuse?
Thanks for all the help
-
sorry, I meant compensation PLATES. BTW all the other components seem correct;
Front springs - green/red
Front shocks - 996 343 041 16
Front stabilizer - 996 343 701 04
Rear shocks - 996 333 051 13

Loren,
My kit that I bought has the rear springs with pn 996 333 531 13 with a green dab on top and green/yellow on bottom. Also the rear stabilizer is pn 996 333 701 25. I'm stressin' out. Are these correct for a '01 C2 Cab 6/spd? Are the compensator rings supposed to come with the set?
Thanks,
Tom

For an RoW M030 on MY01 Cab:
Front springs would be marked Green/Red
Rear springs would be marked Green/Red
Perfect! Thank you.
-
For a US M030 on MY01 Cab:
Front springs would be marked Grey/Yellow
Rear springs would be marked Grey/Red
Thanks Loren. How about ROW?

Is there a way to tell if suspension components are M030 by looking at individual part #'s and paint dabs? I have a 2001 C2 cab w/6 speed.
Thanks

Hello all,
It is time for the 30k service on my 2001 996 C2 Coupe, and from the reading I have been doing, it looks like I am on the cusp: MY98-01 996's needed to replace spark plugs at 30k, but MY01-04 996's replace plugs every 60k.
Referring to the owners manual it says 60k. That said, the owners manual also says to change oil every 15k... Yeah, I don't follow those instructions either. I change the oil every 7,500 miles (cheap insurance?) does anyone ACTUALLY do their oil every 15k?
My question is this: Should I change the plugs at 30k or hold off? No one likes to throw away money. For a bit of background, I try to track the car at least once a month, she is a daily driver, and is having no problems to date. What do you all think?
As a side note, I pulled the rear most plug from each bank don't laugh, I had some extra time and I wanted to see if I was up to the DIY (I also had not purchased the new plugs), neither was fouled, but both looked like I might be running a bit lean, ie. the plugs were dry but had a light brown dusty coating to them? Is my diagnosis correct? Second opinion? Or is this normal?
One more question. I have been trying to find a set of Bosch Platinum +4 plugs for my 3.4L, and I have been coming up empty. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
-Sean
I just recently replaced mine also @ 30k. I bought them from these guys:

Loren,
Can you show a pix and part # for the blue tool?
Thanks

I bought a 2002 and up PSE switch for my 2001 Cab and sprayed it with clear lacquer. It matches the other switches perfectly.

So is the 996 613 988 10 A05 actually the correct part #?
-
Which part # did you order? I'm in the same situation. I ordered mine per the shop manual listing (996 613 988 10 A05) for left side of radio and what came was one for the right side of radio. The dealership is reordering the other one.
-
Awesome. Thanks Toolpants, exactly the answer I was looking for.

Search here on this board for Kluster. Then Cluster. And maybe a few other names. I think the local group might have filmed it. Ask Henry since he had the camera that day.
The faces just peel off.
But will they peel back on?
-
I recently purchased a set of Techart silver faces. If I switch them out and later change my mind, can I swap them back to the originals? Loren... Toolpants.....? Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to replace one of these vacuum actuators on my 996. If you don't want the quiet feature, you don't need these. If anybody doesn't want the quiet feature and would like to help a fellow p-car owner out, I could send mine for trade. It's the part that bolts on and includes the rod. :D :D

Does anybody out there (Loren, Tool Pants) have the instructions for installing the electronics for the PSE. Are the the electronics kits for the early (3.4L) and late (3.6L) the same?
Thanks, Tom
-
Hello All,
Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the vacuum actuator on the PSE?
Thanks,
Tom

Just put mine in the other night. OMG what a difference! It makes the car feel so much tighter. I installed mine the same way, left the cables in place, flipped the tower on it's side, pulled off the coupling, new shifter in, snappped the coupling back on...viola.
-
How do you adjust the cable?
-
I am interested in this as well. I recently purchased a B&M shifter an would like to adjust the cables perfectly before installing it. How does the dealer adjust the cables on a car that came with the SSK?
