    Ahh. My only experience is with the OEM film that was applied to my 997 rears on each side of the rear wheels. Worked well against chips. But after a long while the clear film turned yellowish and I just took them off.

    So far our experience has been that the center dash air conditioning vents are pretty much useless. There is about 0 air that comes from them? is that your experience? Generally in our other cars we have kept the a/c at 74F and it does the trick. This car is more like 68F to feel like 74.... Then the darn thing is so noisy its crazy...

    Only thing that ive noticed is that the brakes on ours are very sensitive! They grab!!

    Was never able to get a full hard copy Owners Manual or even a full .pdf. Porsche could only give me a Manual for a 2022 model and not in paper , but .pdf.

    I looked but could not find my file I had on this. But, I think there are 2 screws - 1 kinda hidden in the carpet liner somewhere and 1 around / in the plastic vent of the liner.

    Going for my 3rd estimate today. 1st was about 900.00. 2nd about $2000.00 and neither include the 800-900$ camera recalibration. Have to take it back to the dealer for that.

    Update - been in contact with dealer no Porsche. apparently there is no complete manual for download - you have to read it sitting in the car from the digital one on the dash.

    Too late now ….. We traded the A6 on the Macan. Do you think the paint peel will worsen out if curiousity?

    Will the paint peel - continue to get worse you think? Dealer said no because it’s a plastic bumper. Im reluctant only because last time we had work done by Audi shop for the A6, the lane assist was never the same after being calibrated. And every time we tried to get the dealer to fix it they said the warning messages were “normal” even though the car had never acted that way before the recalibration. On straight aways and driving on highway next to stretches with jersey barriers, after the work, the car would always say something like driver take over or similar. The shops down here are awful. And so far the Porsche one has not called back. But it’s only been 3 days.

    So 2 week old car got side swiped !! Not bad as there are no dents, maybe a tiny ripple, but not worried about that. Parking lot hit and run. The bigger issue to me is whether or not to have the paint re-done professionally? Or at all? Guessing it will eventually get worse - especially if using carwashes. The shops around here are awful and im not in the mood to have the body shop remove the fender and messing with the cameras / sensors. And I really am not in the mood to have to potentially have them re-calibrated. The shop said the paint job would take a week. Thoughts? Is it possible to find a good kit to attempt some touch up myself? If so can anyone recommend a product you've used? Tks much - what a bummer. BUT, could be worse!!

    So we picked up a 2023 Macan GTS yesterday. Beautiful car! BUT, today I went to the trusty owner manual - I’m a manual guy for sure - to figure out the weak A/C. What a surprise - the book is very condensed with a lot of refrences to “digital”. I think it’s on the 1st page it explains to go to something like manual.Porsche.com and another site or the app to get a .pdf version. So the 2 addresses did not work for me - 1 was in German and the other had no .pdf version and the app is useless and had none either. About all the app is good for is advertising and how to get hooked up with Porsche partners b.s. So no more full scale manuals? Where to get the .pdf ? Anyone know?

    Does anyone know if the OFF DELAY for the interior door lights can be adjusted? I see that the Manual states the off time to be approximately 2 minutes or when the car alarm is armed or the car is started. But I cant find if this OFF TIME can be adjusted??? Tks

    If you mean that foam is blowing out from the AC vents, there is no fix short of removing the dash and replacing the ductwork. You can use fan only on high and direct air to each section separately- floor, front then defrost. The pieces will blow out. When doing the front ones, close off each section separately to force more air through to get more foam to shoot out. A small pick is helpful to pull pieces that get stuck before they fly out. Wear eye protection and clothes you don’t mind getting the sticky stuff on. Some shops might also use an compressed air whip to fish into the vents to help dislodge the foam. I’ve been having stuff coming out of mine for years and as often as today I went for a ride and had to try and get some of the sticky foam off of the passenger side floor mat that had blown out and stuck to and stained the mat.

    Ok - tks again for the tip on an indy.... I ended up going to one I had actually been to before twice - but had forgotten about. Made the apt. last week for yesterday and the car was ready today at lunch. 2 new horns and 4 new drive axle boots and checked the oil. All good and the car was spick and span on pick up. Parts were im sure less than dealer and labor too - not a steal - but I wasn't expecting that anyway. Seems to be all good ( but I haven't looked at the boots though) and the horn works too..... Im pretty sure they'll be the go-to now - they've been around for awhile and they are long time local club participants and supporters. A no brainer to the dealer bs and drop off and we'll see if we can have it ready in 4 days... The indy was by no means looking for work either but, I think, may value a customer as much as a customer should value good work.

    So what’s the time difference between seeing a split boot and tearing everything apart to determine one needs a full replacement instead and then putting it all back together?

    So once the grease has started to leak, how does one tell it’s still “ok” to drive? Dealer srvc Mgr says I can still drive it with no worries - even though I think the diagnosis went something like this….. car arrives to shop, mechanic sees grease stains on boot and wheel and says, replace the whole assembly. I’d bet money, based on when I saw the car on the shop floor, nothing dissembled and after diagnosis, that’s what happened…..

    So if the rubber is just split, why can’t the boot just be replaced and not the whole part?? And now I’m wondering why the service manager told me its ok to drive not knowing how much grease has been lost? Should I worry about driving it with the grease being lost?

    can anyone help me understand where the leaking grease may be coming from? Could there be more than 1 source? still trying to figure out how this all goes together, but its like shooting in the dark.... Does the rubber boot keep the grease contained? Why does the whole part need to be changed out - according to dealer. This is the part they quoted me:
