  1. The new HOT tire in town is the Michelin PilotSport 2, a N2 rated tire.
  2. Yeah, check this out Jimmy. http://www.babblers.org/recommendations/index.pl
  3. Carlsen has a oil/filter change special for $118.78, add on other filters & services might still save you a cool couple hundred $. I think it's closer to where you live too.
  4. WoW, this sounds like a bargain when compare to the power kit.
  5. Looks very nice indeed. I am worry about the reflections it creates under sunlight.
  6. You are the man! Loren. Q. I assume the C4S already have the third radiator?
  7. :welcome: Congratulations on your new ride. Looking forward to your driving impressions/comparisions between your new sexy ride & the 3.4 'Super' Boxster.
  8. I settled on 35/40 after some experimenting. C4S PilotSport N1, stock suspsension.
  9. The 1999 996 C4 cab has the 3.4 Litre engine, which produce 300 hp but has to haul 3200lb. 0-62mph should be around 5.4 second. The 2001 Boxster S has the 3.2 Litre engine, 250 hp available for 2855lb, 0-62mph around 5.9 seconds. The C4 is faster but not by much, and I bet the boxster is probably faster in 0-30. I think you'll be much happier if you got the C2 cab especially with the 3.6 Litre engine. ( from MY02 on ) The extra 340 lbs AND the feel of the all wheel drive system combined make the C4 cab FEELS sluggish when compared to a very tosable and nimble Boxster S. Take your C4 out on a rainy/snowy day, you may think otherwise
  10. Jimmy, Not all tires are created equal, some manufactures are doing a better job than others. I have Michelin PilotSport N1 OEM (yes, very lucky) on my 03 C4S, 9200 miles. very happy with it. Having tried many tires/brands over the years, it's hard to beat Michelin PilotSport.
  11. yellow2k, "tire pressure about 30-32 psi warm on Contis." ?? I think your tire pressure is too low and that would make the flat-spot a lot bigger and the vibration as a result, a lot stronger. From the manual, Tire Pressure for 17" is 36/36 cold. & 18" is 36/44 cold.
  12. Thx for the link, Jeff. One more board to spend the time I don't have :) back to work
  13. Hi Vic, if your dealer gave your baby the clean bill of health, I won't worry too much. I would try a bottle of Techron in a full tank of Chevron gas just BEFORE your next oil change and please give us a update.
  14. We live in the BayArea, never seen snow, the day time temperatures range from the low 50sF in winter to 100F for a few days in summer. As a year round oil, the M1 0W40 may be too thin for summer but then the M1 15W50 may be too thick for winter? In addition, I heard from some oil boards, according to the experts there, the M1 15W50 is a much better oil than the M1 0W40. May be the better solution for us in the BayArea is a mixed 50/50 of the two M1s? any thoughts?? :)
  15. Congratulations on your new sweet ride, let the permagrin start! There's no substitute, try the Archives from: http://www.ppbb.com/board/986board.htm & have fun!
  16. Oops, naughty fingers... Now, does it mean RMS is History for M96 engines/cars after March 2003?
  17. Congratulation on your forum, Loren & Jeff. I love it! My C4S is only 6 weeks old, I am wondering if Custom Service does warrenty services? But if the dealers fail, I'll definitely give them a call. Thankyou.
  18. Hi all. My 03 C4S drift to the right on long straight divided Hwys- worse on far right lane than on far left since day one. Dealer checked and confirmed a slight normal pull due to road crown, so it's NORMAL, and I am not buying it, because my other cars don't have the same problem. Please help! :(
