  1. I drove a 4S, it took a while before my left foot on longer wanted to push in the clutch. It still is allot like an automatic with 8 speeds. I wounder how long that will last before it needs repair. They say for the life of the car, and I think I have heard that before also. It was allot of fun, and you can't over rev on a downshift, but I think I'll stick with a stick for a while. :D

  2. You get what you pay for, only with Porsche it costs more.

I love the Xenon lights, Just get the S and the package that has all the goodies, I like the 19" Carrera Classic wheels, but to save a few bucks you can get them later. I don’t think the Full Climate control is worth it however, I know when I’m too warm or cold.

Here is what I got on my wife’s 07S.

    19"Carrera Classic Wheels

    Roll Bar Painted Exterior Color

    Bi-Xenon Headlamps

    Heated Leather Sport Seats

    Porsche Crest in Headrest

Self Dim Mirrors and Rain Sensor

    Bose High End Sound System

My 06S has about the same package and I am very happy with it. Scotto

  3. Yes, that’s what I hear also. They should be at the dealer by September and later in the year for RoW, and ALL Brown for the kick-off,… I guess it looks good with the Yellow brakes. But I’ll take one any color, even Brown, if someone wants to donate. :)

  4. Same concern here. I Just love this car full leather full CF, Violet Metallic, Champion tuned suspension+ wheels, full GT3 Aero kit, and well would like to consider all options before I drop $20k into a replacement and a SC. Bimmers are nice, had an 02 M5 loved it, just a little to big for my sporty taste.

:offtopic: I stoppped by the BMW dealer today to return the big bow borrowed to surprise the wife. I took a seat in the new Z4 Coupe - much smaller than an M5! The local paper's auto writer called it the "Cayman killer" at $20K less and 255 HP. I can't believe I can buy a brand new 2007 Z4 for the same price I paid for my 99 C2 three years ago. Humm....

Someone dropped him on his head as a child

  5. I think you have 90 days to the second to post feedback on Ebay.

If you are worried about bad feedback, wait 89 days 23 hours and 59 minutes, and then post your bad feedback.

I look carefully at bad feedback on Ebay, and see if it looks legitimate to me, and who it is from, and their track record. ;)

  6. Porsche cars sitting, or stored, for more than a few day must have a tickle charger attached. It’s cheaper than replacing batteries that are dead.

Was your local repair shop, a Porsche approved shop?

Do they only work on, or have allot of experience with Porsche?

PM Loren or Tool Pants and ask them for advice for mechanics in the Bay area.

Sounds fishy to me, no pun intended. :)

  7. Yes, look at the image Tool Pants posted on the second link.

    Range 1 is 7,300-7,500 and Range 2 is 7,500 to 7,700 and Range 3 is 7,701 to 7,900.

So the car was over the recommended 4,000 RPM’s if this occurred during the “break-in” period. A usual rule of thumb is about 35 miles per operating hour, so you can do the math. The DME will show you total ignitions and hours run at the LAST occurrence. If there are only a few, it may have only been one event. The most important thing is will the dealer support the factory warranty in writing knowing this. It’s probably fine, good luck. :)

  8. Ray:

First I agree that anything but air is a waste of money.

But if you must, for that .001 second, I still would use Argon.

An average tire is about 35 cubic foot of gas at 32 PSI.

A lot of welding supply shops sell both Nitrogen and Argon.

20 cents per cubic foot of Nitrogen and 42 cents for Argon.

Or about $7 per tire for Nitrogen and $15 for Argon.

Argon will add a little more weight however 1666 grams v/s 1225 for Nitrogen or Air,

but as a gas, for this purpose, it's properties are much better I would think.

But my question still goes unanswered, if your going to waste your money

    why not Argon?

  9. Hey, has anyone tried Argon? Argon is used in scuba diving to inflate a dry suit, because it has low thermal conductivity and “keeps you warmer”, also energy efficient windows as a thermal insulator. The tire pressure should not change as much with temperature, and it helps prevent oxidation that ages tires, but who keeps them that long. Argon is also inexpensive since it is a byproduct of the production of liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen. It also has over twice the atomic weight of nitrogen and oxygen and is very inert.

If anyone has tried it, it would probably be Tool Pants. Hey T.P. what do you think?

  10. Hi Todd:

I think there is some confusion over your picture, including myself. The pins are not round as I first assumed, but rectangular or blade type, correct? Outpost.com is Fry’s online by the way. Here on the West coast everyone knows Fry’s. Back to the point.

I have not seen a tool to remove the rectangular pins, they are usually used for power applications, and sometimes molded into the connector, if not, there probably is a removal tool, but expensive. A pair of flat end tweezers or bird nose pliers won’t do I assume. I do not know what part of the U.S. you are in, or even if you are in the country. You could try calling Norvac Electronics in Portland OR at (503) 644-1025, they are very helpful, and if you can find an AMP part number on the connector that they could look up, they could tell you exactly what you need. They will probable know with just your description. Here is another bad Web site : http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/browse.js...equestid=224510

Sorry for the confusion, I hope this helps. :)

  11. Just diy'ed the 75,000 mile oil change on my 2000 Boxster 2.7 and now getting an Oil Pressure fault at idle while hot. It only flashs on for 1/2 second they back off at stoppes. I used Mobil One 0-40 Full Syn. Should I replacing it with 15w-50 and see if that solves the problem or disreguard the light totally? I live in Arizona and it gets very hot here in the summer.

I would NOT disregard any warning lights, and ask my dealer what the problem is.

15W 50 is NOT Porsche approved, but you might want to check this out.

Loren or Tool Pants any comments?
