  1. Well, after doing some research, it looks as though AMSOIL fully synthetic seems to be one of the best motor oils on the market. Head to head it seems significantly better than Mobil 1 or Redline. They have the research to back it up. Downside is it is $7.40 a quart or about double what you'll pay for Mobil 1 from Walmart. If any of you guys have used AMSOIL's products or recommend them let me know. Matt
  2. Thanks guys appreciate the info. My top was down all summer as I only drove on nice days and I kept her in the garage. It was a chilly day when I finally put the top up and I think it was a little two much stress on the whole mechanism. It's not exactly the beefiest design ya know. Anyway, Maurice, I'll drop u a PM and get your belgian connection.
  3. Putting up my rag top the other day and the left side white plastic ball joint connected to the black steel push rod basically exploded into about twenty pieces. I've read posts about supergluing them back together which is not an option for me. I was wondering where I could buy some new better quality ones made of metal or some other durable material. Matt
  4. Yeah, I looked all over the net for it too. I actually did see it at Autozone though and was interested.
  5. Cool, thanks a lot bro. Just bought the boxster and having a great time with it. Few kinks, though, as I am finding out are fairly common.
  6. About to do an oil change on my '97. Buddy of mine told me that AutoZone sells a Mobil 1 "European Sports Car" oil and I was wondering if any of you guys have heard of it or even put it in your car. Not sure of the weight though. Appreciate any feedback. Also what's the highest quality filter and where could I get one? Matt
  7. Hey all, I'm new to the Porsche world as I just bought a 1997 boxster a few months ago. Tried putting the top down the other day and nothing. I know this forum is exhausted but I can't figure out my problem. I start the car. I set the brake and the annunciator light comes on. I unlatch the handle. I hit the toggle switch on the dash and nothing happens, no noise, no clicking, nothing. The windows do not move. I stick my finger in the handle latch hole and depress that while hitting the toggle switch. Nothing. The fuse is good so at this point I'm not sure what the problem is. As I understand it the windows should come down a little bit when you press the toggle switch as they do when you open door. Is it that rectangular relay next to the fuse panel? How do I know? What else could it be? Any help much appreciated. Matt
