  1. weight is pretty close to stock

Front - 22 lbs per wheel

Rear - 24 lbs per wheel

I do not notice a difference between the Turbo stock 19s and the HRE 20s. In fact, I was looking for a difference in feel beacuse of my past experience on my 06 997S. On my 06, I noticed a huge difference in feel in the stock 19s Carrera Classic Wheels and my upgraded Avus 20s.

  2. I just had 20's put on my 06 Carrera. I sounds like possibly your installer didn't program for the new wheels correctly. My installer used a reader to tell the system there were new tires. The system only allows for 18 or 19 inch but it really doesn't matter that you have 20's. What's important is that the new tire pressures need to be inputted then the system has to be put into "learn" mode. When you first drive the car you should get a message saying "TPC inactive" and then below it should say "learning" I drove the car for about 20 miles then the system went back to normal and the tire pressure warning light went off.

Are you getting a 'learning" message?

    I hope this helps.

    Merry Christmas :D

Thanks for the quick reply. Let me clarify a bit. I actually did the install myself with new sensors and I did get the "learning" message before I did another reset (maybe I did not wait long enough). I guess the next question is (for anyone), is how do I manually put the system into "learn mode" so I can input the new wheel values, or is this something I can't do without going to the dealer.

  3. I switched out my 19" Porsche turbo wheels for 20" HRE with new sensors on my 09 Turbo. I am getting a "TPC inactive" (tire pressure control) error message, even after puting about 50 mile on since the switch. The TPC is reading the psi of all four wheels correctly.

Is there any way to fix this message so it acurately reads the new wheels and shows no errors?

Is there a way to manually enter the parameters for the new wheels?

Is there a way to disable the TPC message?

  4. On my i-pod I have different songs with different volumes.

I would say that this is normal.

    Paul

The question is not the volume of different songs on an individual input ie ipod, aux, tuner. The question /comment /recommendation is there no adjustment for the individual inputs so when one is listening to the ipod and one selects tuner one is not blown away by the different volume levels of those different inputs.

Also, once agin I ask, is there a way to tap into the auto mute in the PCM 3.0 (like we could in the PCM 2.1). I would love my radio to mute when my radar detector goes off like it did in my previous 2006 911

  5. On my new 2009 Turbo, I have noticed that the Aux in volume on the PCM3 is much lower that the tuner volume or the ipod volume. This happens no matter what device I plug into the Aux. Is this standard (feature) or is it a problem that I am only having. Also, is there a way on the PCM3 to connect and auto mute via a cable with my built in Escort 9500ci radar dector.

  6. I just brought mine in for the exact same error. I had to manually lower and lock the top. They have not let me know what the cause was but it should be ready for pickup tomorrow. I will post when I have an answer. I would remove the SmartTOP if you want to fix it under warranty. You will need to manually lower and raise and lock the top (directions in manual) and remove the SmartTOP.

  7. Yes, the engine purge fan. This fan only comes on when the engine (surrounding air) temp exceeds a set number. At that point it turns on and pulls cool air into the engine compartment. For most drivers this fan rarely comes on.

Thanks Thats what I thought. The dealer confirmed there is an issue with the fan and the DME. Originally the fan would stay on for 30 minutes or more after driving. Yesterday it 1165 CELd.

Ill take it in next week
