  1. you can always drive into your garage at an angle... allowing one front tire to touch first... then the other..the sharper the angle, the less chance of hitting the front bumper or splitter
  2. my guess is going to be the motor...do you know where the memory is actually stored for the SR positions?
  3. i did last year... but maybe its time for a more thorough cleaning... will update after cleaning.... no success....still losing the memory after 10seconds... anymore ideas... where exactly are these limiting sensors (HALL type i believe) and how do I replace them... if I even can? I cant find them ony any tech documents...

  6. i did last year... but maybe its time for a more thorough cleaning... will update after cleaning....
  7. soo... i tried the teach function on the sunroof several times... both by pressing the up button and the open button... but its seems to "forget" within 30sec!! the only way to get the SR to move is to press either the close or the up button... which will BOTH make the roof go into the full up position...stop.. move forward and back about 5mm and then stop...still in the up position then i can use the open button and the one touch again... but once i do either and move the SR... i have to repeat the process. could this be one of the position sensors (?) if so how do i replace, adjust these? thanks again Rod 99 C2 (91000km)
  8. wow..after some searching....and Loren's answer... i am happily surpised!! and its not even my B-day!! thanks
  9. hey all... what does this option code mean, porsche option code 220, which is a locking differential... i beleive this is a limited slip correct? thanks in advance.. Rod 99C2

  13. i know for a fact that the panels HAVE been removed to upgrade speakers... so, does water generally go in the door... and then drain somewhere? i will remove the panels this weekend and have a look thanks
  14. well, i live in canada... on the "WET" coast... long story short...i get water on the inside of my door... not lots, the water just collects on the carpet liner at the bottom of the door. from about where the speaker is, all the way back on both doors? any ideas... 1999 996, ~90k km
  15. i ended up ripping out the entire carpet... and interior trim... to find my water problem... which was, as i found out AFTER i did all this...it was the front drains!!
  16. oddly enough...when i drove the car home..not even 3hours later... problem gone!! so annoying. it has to be water in the booster... it totally feels like vapour lock. and it must be evaporating off with the heat from the car. go figure! i thought these cars where engineered by germans...not italians!
  17. thanks..exactly what i was trying to find!! this must be the problem....
  18. so... for awhile now...everytime i went through a carwash (non touch) my brake pedal became supper hard.. and alot of brake pedal pressure is required to stop the car... this would usually go away instantly today... this happened while driving in the car...BUT it hasnt gone away. it feels like i have NO VACUUM BOOST. BUT the idle is steady. the car is 1999 C2 with ~90,000 km i also just did the brakes (all rotors and pads) about 500km ago...but it has been fine until today any help would be great...thank Rod
  19. ITS NOT THE AC..YAY... because that looks like a b$tch to get out!! its coming from the battery area... the drains looked bad so i tried to unplug them........well, they are not there anymore! i sprayed water again...and its seems to be no more water... BUT, this is a bandaid, as i havent found the actual spot where the water is coming in... any help here still would be good. thanks Rod
  20. ya, i checked it... its good its actually much higher than that..and at the firewall. i removed the carpet like i said, and it is actually higher and farther back than the condensor hose.
  21. ok..here goes, i discovered TONS of water in the car on the passenger side.... so..i already removed the carpet...dried it out... and toady, i started looking for the leak.... well, i sprayed some water at the firewall (battery compartment) and didnt see any leaks..... BUT at the same time, i ran the car with the A/C on... after about 10min of running... i see a trickle of water...coming from the sound proofing foam (carpet). this is the multicolor insulation that is right up against the wall. i peel it back a bit and it is soaked!! and tons of water (about 20-30mL) pissed out from there. so... what is it, what do i do..how do i fix it!! i wanted to get the car out on the road asap... but not like this!! any help appreciated... PS..i donated my money last night...I LOVE WHAT THIS site has done for me, i have fixed a lot of stuff already! Rod
