  1. Here are some pics taken in a local Casino's parking garage. They seem to be bright enough for me?
  2. I'm sorry I have not been back to report my progress... Well there is not much to tell. Fuel gauge reads very optimistic. When it is @ 1/4, it takes ~13gal. This is after several fills. I have not tried to calibrate gauge yet. I might try that later. My e-brake light still doesn't work, anybody have any ideas on that? My handbrake light don't lit when the handbrake is pulled. It works before car is started, so bulb (LED) is fine. Also I need to pull the handbrake to operate the top, so switch seems ok. Is MY04 C4S handbrake light in diffrent connector than MY01 Boxster S? Help? AnneH: Is your fuel gauge still working OK? :renntech:
  3. I'll be getting something else. My plan includes decklid w/o dent for 3rd brake light (eurostyle) and Gemballa/Aerokit style wing, possibly Carbon, with brake light. Something like this: Also 997 GT3 style front bumper cover & rocker panels are in plans for the summer... :jump: :jump:
  4. They are smoked, hopefully this will show it a little better: There are a bunch of more at my MySpace page (link below). :D I got them from this Ebay dealer: I don't know if they still sell them, but there are plenty of others. I tried to take some evening pics, but they did not come out too great. So, later for those.
  5. have you considered the LED tail lights on eBay? some of them are very 'rice', but this is one set that i could live with. i've read about one person that bought them and he really likes them and says that they are plenty bright. i may give them a try. :clapping: I have had these on for a couple of months now. They are bright enough. I must take some pics at night to show it.
  6. Sorry guys. :renntech: I probably bothered you for nothing. It looks like I need to get a 4-stalk or at least 2nd switch. I added wires to #21 & #23 and grounding them (one at time) I was able to control the whole OBC. With the switch I had connected and 2 new wires I have all 4 stalk positions. :D I just gotta wait until I can get the 4-stalk. Thanks,
  7. I guess I need to poke all pins 20-25 and verify what they do in this 01 986 S car / 04 C4S cluster combo... I cannot afford the stalk at the moment, so I need to figure out if this can be done with one switch. Pushing the switch gets OBC to react. Left side press scrolls the different screens and pressing the other side pulls out the reset screen. While on the reset screen: Left scrolls down and right press returns to original screen. Also, only thing I can reset is the trip (with left side peg), but cannot see trip without going to the reset screen. I need to find one local car who has OBC on, so I could see how it is supposed to function. I've never looked at one... Thanks for the help, I try to get to this after work...
  8. I connected my switch for OBC with instructions from OBC hack I did follow connections for 2001 986. Results: I have OBC, but I cannot control it properly. I can get the reset display to come up and scroll down, but I cannot reset anything. Also, I cannot change the 2nd line. It shows 'how many mls to empty'. I guess clusters pins are different than 01 Boxters? I connected the switch to pins #22 and #24. I saw somewhere ( Found it )that 996 needs them to be connected to pins #21 and #25. Is that correct for 2004 C4S cluster? Thanks,
  9. I still have a couple kinks in my swap : :( 1. My handbrake light don't lit when the handbrake is pulled. It works before car is started, so bulb (LED) is fine. Also I need to pull the handbrake to operate the top, so switch seems ok. Is MY04 C4S handbrake light in diffrent connector than MY01 Boxster S? 2. Jury is still out on the gas gauge. It does go down too slowly, MPG seems ok. I'll fill her up today or tomorrow first time. Let see if that will recalibrate it. I do have some issues with OBC also, but I'll ask those in a different post. My Q about OBC :renntech: :renntech:
  10. Neither, they are original Litronics.
  11. Installed and seems to be working  My brakes need work  Fuel gauge seems to work :D Oil pressure gauge works. Where are my keys?? I post better pics next weekend. Huge thanks to EVERYBODY here and especially Loren and Whall :renntech: :renntech: :renntech: :renntech:
  12. Time will tell. It shows full correctly now. I had to take it out a couple of times, before I got everything working. Convertible top light works, OBC works (did not have it turned on before), oli pressure & volt meter works. Let see after couple days how the fuel gauge will go down... Right now I'm changing the adjustment pegs from my old gauge, then I think I'll finnish up tomorrow.
  13. Well, there it is. I tried the cluster earlier and it seem to be working OK. Even convertible top light works. It was just complaining about oil pressure ( sender was not yet installed). Oil pressure idiot light seems to be working. What pin runs the idiot light?
  14. Blue socket pin 5, green & red or green & brown. I'll go and post a pic in a minunte Sorry about quality
  15. Blue socket pin 5, green & red or green & brown. I'll go and post a pic in a minute
  16. I'm installing the cluster now, but I run into a problem. Pin #5 in blue socket is taken, so I cannot install oil pressure sensor wire on it?? Is there a difference between model years? Mine is 2001 S. :help: :help:
  17. Tow company moran forgot to take right side tie-down away before starting to lower her from the flatbed. That ripped a small crack strting from right wheelwell. They reimbused me for a repair, not replacement. So used cover ($189 shipped) + paint is pretty much paid for and it makes it look a little different. I cannot afford a $800-1200 cover at the moment, although I love the TechArt one. I have my other mods, like 996 cluster on the works, so $$ is a little tied up now. I had already planned to do this, when I (equally moran) had a little meeting with a orange barrel size pylon the other day. No bigger harm, I was lucky. Mild scratches on the left front fender, which I almost got fixed just by trying to wax it a little. Also a little more damages on the bumper.
  18. I actually found 'reasonably' priced bumper cover yesterday from Ebay. So upcoming weekends I have bumpercover, 996 cluster and aftermarket sideintakes and a couple of smaller things to install.... :D :D :D
  19. Did DME version change occur? I mean, if calculation is done differently, version should change, right??
  20. I guess we'll just have try it  Thanks everybody, I'll let you know what happens
  21. Well, I plan on putting European deck lid which covers 3rd brake light entirely. I also plan on putting Aero kit spoiler with 3rd brake light, so that takes care of it. As of center radiator surround, that was like that when I got her. I've been shopping for a new bumper cover for a couple of months now w/o luck. Wheels are actually hugely expensive set BSA 215AF. I paid $370 shipped on Ebay!
