  1. YES!! Tip to Tip and full part number is 996 641 224 03 70C Typ USA. Back to my original question: legal issues if I do not correct the mileage? It is so darn expensive! 1. I do not plan on selling this anytime soon, but I guess things might change 2. I plan on documenting cluster change with pics, maybe with a notary. so I have proof of change in mileage. 3. Change will be about -55,000 miles 4. In April DMV documented 68,000 miles, yesterday I just went through 73k
  2. So I should be cool with my 04 C4S cluster for my 01 S Boxster?
  3. Ok, cluster is supposed to be from 04 C4S. Number is: 996 641 224 03 70C Thanks for any help, but I think I must call it for tonite and  :censored:
  4. I guess we'll see next weekend. I've no spare car today, so I better wait... Thanks Loren.
  5. I know, but how is that gonna affect my display? (which is all over the place nowadays already)
  6. I've heard that mentiond before, but what is the issue? Whall said "Interestingly, my MY02 Carrera C2 Coupe instrument cluster part number is 996.641.223.00.70C; the part number of the MY03 Carrera C4 Cabriolet was 996.641.223.02.70C. The current part number listed for MY01+ Carreras is 996.641.223.03.70C. Except for the suffixes to the basic part number indicating current modification status, i.e., .01., .02., .03., it seems as though a Carrera instrument cluster is a Carrera instrument cluster....at least for non-turbos. " So I'm confused, I might try it today.
  7. Got it done piece by piece. Results: More pics @ myspace :renntech:
  8. Do I run into some kind of legal problem if I do NOT change the mileage? I know that DMV will notice that, but if I document the change it will show buyers later what was done... Any ideas?
  9. I got my 996 cluster couple days ago. Today I'll try to put it in, wish me luck. It is from C4S so I might have a problem....
  10. Not to be a pain, but next time you need a paint code: open your hood and look under
  11. Just bought these from ebay past weekend. Anybody know who makes these?
  12. I have been thinking about doing this for months. Lazy, uh? Actually I totally forgot it. This thread remained me again, so I walked to the garage, opened the door, pulled the relay, found the pin #18, bent it down, put the relay back, went for around the block test drive. Everything OK, windows work as they should, total time 4-5 min. :renntech:
  13. It is actually the heating of O2 sensor, not that it makes a huge difference. :P I just had that replaced yesterday. I had a intermittent CEL with same code. Tomorrow we have a little trip to Mammoth Lake, CA, with local PCA. It is gonna be a blast. :drive:
  14. All is OK. After 0.5hrs of labor shop found a disconnected electrical connector. They also replaced one of the O2 sensors, which had a bad heating element. Tomorrow we have a little trip to Mammoth Lake, CA, with local PCA. It is gonna be a blast. :clapping: :drive:
  15. This morning I went for a little drive and everything was OK. Later on I worked for a little while installing aluminium pedals :clapping: Later on I needed to move her and she don't start. Well I thought that battery had drained because I had the dook open and stereo on for a while when I was working. I hook up jumper cables and still nothing. Then I noticed that transmission light is on R. Also the shifter is very loose. Did I lose the transmission or could that just be cable? Any ideas? :help:
  16. They are under SpeedArt Body Styling @ Design911, but they cost $ 386.10 / pair. Last mont I got a quote from: From: JeffClark@sunsetimports.com [mailto:JeffClark@sunsetimports.com] Sent: Friday, June 08, 2007 1:57 PM To: XXXXXXXXXXX Subject: RE: Porsche Parts Inquiry Those are 132.05 each and a week away from me. Plus 7-10 dollars shipping. Thanks, Jeff. :renntech: Edit: Yes you have to get them painted.
  17. Twisted turned you name it no help. Also I tried to have a peek from above, but lights were not that good. I'll try to look again later.
  18. Dealership wanted me to take it in Monday, but cannot do (and don't feel like paying for it). They did not seem to have a very good idea how the tube even goes. And I have not have a chance to crawl under myself yet. Thanks Loren :renntech:
  19. I have had my Boxster S now for a little over 2 months. I've been checking oil level daily using the gage. A couple days ago I pulled the dipstick out the first time. UUPS! It doesn't go back in! I tried about 30min. :( I drove to a dealership: one service advisor AND one mechanic both tried, no luck (even with a new dipstick). :( :( Yesterday @ PCA members breakfast I asked one of our Porsche only independents to have a look at it. Same result. :( :( :( It stucks a little on the way in and finally stops at where the yellow end of the stick is about even with the deck lid. Any ideas??
  20. I had the same problem last week. My solution costed me a total of $1328. Wheels of ebay + tires of Discout tire + 5mm spacers & bolts from Wheel Ehancement. Time will tell if that was a right solution. Anyway, result is below: Almost forgot: Front 8 x 18 offset 48 with 225/40-18 Rear 10 x 18 offset 52 (5mm spacers) with 265/35-18
  21. So with my upcoming rears 10x18 offset 52 I need 5mm spacers? I guess my fronts 8x18 offset 48 should be fine? I have 01 S. Any help greatly apreciated. Thanks,
