Is there any issue adding the Porsche/Curt hitch for a Thule rear mount mountain bike rack?
Do I need to alter my bumper? I WILL NOT be towing with it. Loren, anyone?
-
Dude. Wicked relaxed about it now. So nice that they helped me.
-
I got hooked up! See post above. mile 1-100,000 on paper. Yeah baby.
-
I asked nicely and from mile 1 through 58,000 service history was sent to me this week. I obtained 60k onwards from the local dealer who serviced it here in Dallas before i bought it. Lots of warranty replacements at 50k when CPO'd, including driveshafts, transfer case, ignition coil packs, and everything else I've heard about on this forum. It's cool, I know most everything about my car at this point. Not that it will prevent the inevitable, but great having ALL my service records.
Thanks Tyson's Corner!
-
It was sold there in 04 and CPOd there and sold again upon trade-in at 65k mi. It made its way to Dallas from Tyson's Corner, VA where my service records pick up from that mileage, and are current. I called HBL Porsche to obtain the records from their service department ysterday and I was asked for my VIN. I was also told that I would have to be in "The Porsche Database" for their service records to be released to me. Someone named Barbara would call me or just fax me the records if above requirement was met. OK I said. Nothing yet.
My dealer here has seen the car, if that gets me in the club, otherwise, WTF are they referring to?

Local dealer says there is no recall; only if vehicle is exhibiting symptoms due to coil pack failure and CELnis on. They double the original coverage, so my 103k mi CTT is no "eligible". SA was a ***** too. Gotta love PPlace Porsche.
-
Which is cheaper/better? P/N?
-
Can I test the primary somehow, fuel pressure perhaps at start?
-
Thanks Loren! Looking at my vehicle identification printout sticker on my service manual there are no 4 digit codes, only three digit codes. Maybe that is a dealer service sticker?
-
I have been curious if I have the 2d battery, any idea what the option code is? My books are 100% complete and there's an option sticker on a booklet included.
-
Battery is brand new. 2500 mi on it. I'll test it but the starter was my guess. I also have clicking front axle CVs when it's cold here in Dallas. Temp goes up and clicking on tight/locked turns is minimal.
-
What causes this? Turn key and it sounds like a dead battery. Remove key and try again, works every time. No codes stored nor any warning lights. Idle is a bit grumbly for my tastes. 103kmi. Factory CPO until 100kmi. Sorta stumped and don't wanna start throwing parts at it.....
-
Freakin expensive. Nice tire gauge and some vigilance goes a long way. Oh and grab a compressor while you are at it; an inflation chuck and 50' of hi pressure line. Still cheaper.

Don that is wonderful news. How hard is the fuel filter to replace labor-wise? I know you guys saw my video and said my start up is normal, but it sure seems sluggish.....
-
Will do and my apologies........thanks for the heads up Don. I an an open source software guy so I "some" difficulty wth that however I do understand we need to support our dealer network and PNA.
-
Would love to get my hands on an update and a disc .zip or .iso if anyone has a torrent going.....please PM me.

Picked it up today. and confirmed the ENTIRE coolant line job was thrown in along with a brand new Porsche battery. Stoked as hell. I paid Loren to become a contributing member!
Mech is out of town until next Wed and I want to do the pipes preventatively. Is there a way with a mirror to peer under the intake from the rear and see if the pipes are aluminum? Are all replacements aluminum?
I need a new key.
Reading my Owner's Manual and looking for a firmware upgrade and new NAV disc. Anyone have a torrent feed for these?
-
Buying it.
Battery replaced and it starts perfectly.
Got the coolant pipes and a new battery in the deal against my new tires and battery on my trade in BMW coupe. Will do coils and plugs at his cost as well.
I think that covers it.
-
New battery, starts like a champ now.
-
Do all these need to be visually assessed for problems? What about an old battery causing starting issues?
-
Also hard to start....

I have another thread going on this CTT but so far I love it, and really want to buy it.
It is, however, DIFFICULT, to start.

Does anyone sell the full complement of stickers that should be up front? I have the lone Mobil1 sticker that has peeled in half and I'd like to be the freak with a complete set there. Anyone have tips on getting them all at once? I did cave and buy the new Mobil1 sticker from Suncoast for like $6......
