  1. Hey Beety, I don't think that it is the aircon :( Have a look in here, that explains a lot ;) http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=290310 But another think I have found! When you open the front boot, the compartment where the battery is, I have found about 5 litres of water there, as there are two holes/tubes/drains, which were totally blocked. Now, I have unblocked them, but one of them (the one on the passenger side) I have pushed a bit too hard and pushed it in out of the hole. Does anybody know if this will make a leak into the car as well? How I have found out about this, the water got into the alarm siren and now it's short cutting and making funny noises :( I hope that it will fix it self when it gets dry.
  2. 986 2.5 1998 The car was left ever the weekend on the drive way and when we got back there was a standing water on the passenger side and a bit wet on the drivers side. It was pouring down here whole weekend. No leak through the roof or the back as all is dry, but under the door speakers the carpet is soaked. I'm planning to take the door panels off, but it was still raining yesterday. Any ideas or suggestions while I have to wait for a better weather? Thank you
  3. Relays - good idea  Will these be the white boxes above the fuse box? Is there a relay for each window? So I could try to swap those ones as no friend with boxster close to me yet :D In regards of the connectors, I'm dealing with that as we speak in THIS POST, so if you have any suggestions, feel free ;)
  4. Well as promised, yes I'm stupid :D Unfortunately, got home late and it's dark outside, so had to use a head torch. What a bugger to take out and the wires wont come out much. Any idea which wires are the ones associated with the window? Also how does the connector comes apart as I don't want to break it. Well at least I'm getting closer now :) Next time I'm gonna take some pics too.
  5. RFM, I feel like £^&^%$ Just now I've relized what you ment, the conector inside the rubber/plastic cover... **** I feel stupid :) I will open it tonight and have a look and then I'll report again and yes I'll say again how stupid I am :)
  6. Just spoken to Porsche UK and they said that if one window is working, then it can't be that switch as it's operating both windows. So if this switch is broken, neither window would work. Now, is that correct? BTW the UK price for that switch is £21.00. Thanks Robert
  7. Hi Dan the car is 1998 2.5 Boxster the passenger window drops all the way down each time I want to open (releas the "hook") or close the top. Yes bouth door drops when you lift the handle. Thanks Robert
  8. My wife has a trouble with the drivers window. It does not drop down when you want to open or close the roof. You can also operate the window up or down while the roof is in motion, so I guess that the window doesn't know that the roof is in motion and therefore I would blame the windshield switch for that. Would you know the part number for the switch or is it repairable? I took it apart today, but it looked ok and I don't have a voltmeter :( to test it. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks
  9. I used google.co.uk with brake caliper paint spray: http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/Car_Acc..._Style_110.html this looks like a paintbrush: http://www.proven-products.co.uk/products/...r_paint_etc.htm This is a good company to deal with: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/Pro...amp;tlgrp=RD003 I used paintbrush a long time ago and it did the job perfect, but if you have time to do the masking :)
  10. I must be blind, but couldn't find it. If nobody could get a picture for me or give me another hint, then dealer it has to be :( Which will have to wait as that will involve money :)
  11. wow, you wouldn't get a blood spray like that in a holywood movie :D but on the serious side, that must be some force for a bird to go through like that !!!!!! Is the windshield softer then other cars? As Audi RS has softer rims to protect the suspension?
  12. Hi there, I've looked briefly at the A pillar, mind you it was getting dark, but could you help me out where to look for the A-pillar switch? Is it located inside the little triangle where the window slides in when closing up? Pics or drawing would be great. The switch in the middle is fine and does the job, so it is the passenger windows case (on the left side in our case), but need to locate the switch :) I'll have more daylight tomorrow, so might see more. But thanks for help so far. :notworthy:
