Although, even if I don't mention it and I trade to a dealer the Carfax would show it was replaced, no?
Thanks!
-
If it included a warranty. Then I would say yes. Otherwise not especially.
Well, it had a warranty three years ago when I bought it, which is the main reason I did. Now, I'm thinking of trading it or selling and wanted to get a feel on where I stood on this.
Thanks!

I would think it would increase the value as well, however I'm a tad biased being the ower! :P
Thanks again guys!

Hello to my fellow Renntech folks,
I have a question for you all. Does a car with a factory replacement engine due to RMS decrease the value at trade-in or resale?
Thanks very much for your time! :D

Piece of cake, remove the nut on the link-rod/sway bar connection and screw the link-rod out of the shock absorber (nut is weld in the shock absorber body)
Awesome! Thank you much!! :renntech:

Guys,
I searched high and low, honestly! Is there a DIY for replacing the rear swaybar links for a '99 996 C4?
Thanks!
-
Most likely a seat belt buckle. See the TSB on this.
You will need the Durametric Software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester to read the fault code(s) and rest the airbag light (once the fault is corrected).
Thanks Loren! Unfortunately I don't have any of the tools nor do I have access to them. I guess it's off to the shop!

Hello,
I have an solid airbag light that suddenly came on! Does anybody have any idea as to what could have triggered it? I haven't been work on anything close to an airbag. :(
Thanks!

Hello,
Fellow P-car owners! I was wondering if there is a write-up on replacing the windshield rubber seal on a '99 996? If so, please point me. Also, is adhesive needed?
Thanks in advance! <_<

I do not think there is any adjustment of the cable - only a small adjustment in the latch position.
Chances are the cable is stretched or unwinding and about to break. I would just replace the cable.
996.512.017.00 Cable -- MSRP $40.73. Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) can likely get a much better price.
Thanks Loren! Do you know of a DIY on how to install the replacement? ;)

Hello,
I have a '99 996 C4. Could some one please help me locate the procedure for adjusting the cable that attaches to the lever that opens the engine compartment lind? The lever has a lot of play where as the hood/trunk cable and lever is nice and tight.
Thanks in advance! ;)

Loren, if one has an intact stock harness, I heard somewhere there is a way to modify it to work with a fixed wing. Is this true? If there's a way, I'd rather do that than spend $150+. Thanks.

Sorry Loren, I didn't mention my year either! I have a '99 C4, will this work? Thanks in advance.

If your car is a coupe - 996.612.070.51 rear harness for aerokit/wing deck lid -- US MSRP $164.88
Give the folks at Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) for better pricing.
Thanks Loren! Yes, it is a coupe. I forgot to mention that, duh! However, I'm with Deckman on saving a few bucks if possible. :D

Hello!
I just bought an aero wing and decklid off ebay! The previous owner paid someone to hard wire the brake light, so now it's just bare wire ends after he removed it. Does anybody know the part number to the OEM aero harness and where it plugs in? <_<
Thanks!

I don't see it at the top of the page! Trying to do a search on what sounds like a piece of tin loose in my drivers side door.
-
Thanks guys!

Has anybody run Cargraphic mufflers on their 996 C2 or C4 or know someone that has? I'd like to get some feedback on them and your thoughts! <_<
Thanks in advance! :D

Did you miss this part?
"14 mm and the pitch is 1.5"
D'oh!! Sorry, yes I did! Thanks again!! :cursing:

Thanks again Loren! However the www.kyankton.net/Wheels.htm site doesn't work and the thread never mention the thread size of the lug/stud. I'm trying to purcahse a set of SS or chrome plated wheel locks and I need the OEM stock size which I can't find anywhere. <_<
-
Could someone please tell me the wheel lug thread size for the '99 C4? Thanks in advance!
-
Hey guys, is there a way to adjust the tension on the release for the trunk/engine compartment? Mine is really loose!
-
Yep, I get the same noise in my '99 C4! I changed the bushing which was causing swaybar noise, swapping them fixed the swaybars noise, however still have the popping. I've grown tired of chasing down all the various noises I've learned to live with the popping. The vibrating tin sound coming from the interior driver side door is starting to get to me though!
